Overview

VENICE is a wall light by FARO, designed by Adolfo Abejón. It is a compact lamp that fits well in spaces where you want something with personality without taking up too much room. The handmade striped ceramic shade, made in a workshop in Barcelona, gives it a character of its own that is not easy to find in other wall lights on the market.

This wall light works well in a bedroom, living room or dining room. It can also be used in the bathroom or hallways, where a ceiling lamp does not always provide the type of light needed in those corners. Its moderate size allows it to be installed without dominating the space, and its design makes it decorative without feeling overdone.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in interior lighting. Its products combine careful manufacturing with an aesthetic sensibility that adapts well to different types of home.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, the metal bracket must be fixed directly to the wall. The design of the bracket and the shade slot allow for quick assembly. It is recommended to switch off the power before making any electrical connections. If you have no experience with electrical installations, it is preferable to seek the help of a professional. The E27 LED lamp is not included and must be purchased separately.

The ceramic shade can be cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or excess liquid, as the surface is handworked and may be sensitive to certain cleaning agents. Do not touch the bulb with your hands when it is on. Periodically check that the wall light is securely fixed to the wall and that there are no signs of wear on the wiring.

Design and use

The VENICE lamp has something that sets it apart from most wall lights on the market: its striped ceramic shade is handmade in a workshop in Barcelona. This means that each piece has small variations inherent to the artisanal process, giving it a more authentic appearance. It is not simply a mass-produced lamp. The handwork is evident in the texture and the imperfect regularity of the stripes, which is precisely what gives it character.

The body of the wall light is made of aluminium with a gloss black finish. That contrast between the ceramic and the metal is what makes the whole piece work well in modern interiors, but also in spaces with a more mixed style. It is not a piece that requires a specific type of interior design to look good.

In terms of size, its dimensions are contained: 174 mm in height, 200 mm in length and 164 mm in diameter. It is a lamp that does not take up much space, but that draws attention through its shade. That balance between discretion and visual presence is difficult to achieve, and VENICE manages it quite naturally.

This wall light is a particularly good fit for the bedroom, where lateral light near the bed is more comfortable than a ceiling lamp. The light it casts is directional and warm when the right bulb is chosen, which helps create a more relaxed atmosphere. It also works well in the living room as a secondary light point that complements the general lighting. In the dining room it can be used to highlight a specific area, such as a wall next to the table.

In the bathroom, this type of wall light is a practical option when you want to add light without major interventions. Placed at the right height, it can improve visibility without the space losing a refined style. In hallways, where light is often scarce, a wall light like VENICE adds warmth without making the corridor feel overcrowded.

The metal bracket is designed to make installation straightforward. The shade slots into place, which avoids complications during assembly. No special tools or advanced technical knowledge are needed to get it fitted.

VENICE is available in several finishes: black, pink, cobalt blue and white. This allows you to choose the version that best suits the tone of the space without having to compromise on the design. The gloss black version has a stronger presence; the softer-coloured versions integrate more easily into bright or Nordic-style interiors.

It is compatible with E27 LED bulbs with a maximum power of 15 W. The bulb is not included, which allows you to choose the colour temperature according to the use and the atmosphere you wish to create.

Questions and answers

Does the ceramic shade come fixed to the bracket, or does it need to be assembled when installing the wall light?

The shade is assembled at the time of installation. It incorporates a slot that fits directly onto the metal bracket, making the process quick and requiring no additional tools.

Is the VENICE wall light suitable for use in the bathroom?

It can be installed in the bathroom as long as it is placed outside areas of direct humidity. For locations near the shower or bathtub, consult an electrician to ensure the installation complies with safety regulations.

Is the E27 LED bulb included in the purchase?

No. The lamp is sold without a bulb. You need to purchase separately an LED bulb with an E27 fitting and a maximum power of 15 W.
