Overview

TILA is a wall light designed for those who want a functional lamp without sacrificing a refined finish. It is intended especially for the bedroom and reading corners: places where light needs to reach exactly where you need it, not simply fill the space.

What sets this wall light apart is its steel structure with a small integrated shelf. That detail allows you to keep a book, a magazine or any small object within reach, without needing a side table. The light beam is adjustable, so it can be directed according to the position in which you are reading or resting. It can also be installed with the cable visible or concealed, depending on each person's preferences or the possibilities of the space.

FARO is a brand with decades of experience in interior and exterior lighting. Its products combine functional design with quality materials, and TILA is a good example of that way of working.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, you need an accessible power outlet or electrical conduit in the chosen area. If you choose to leave the cable visible, it is advisable to plan its route before fixing the light. If you prefer to conceal it, it is recommended to seek the help of an electrician to embed the wiring in the wall. The fixture must be mounted on a solid surface that can support the weight of the wall light.

The black steel surface is cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. Before any cleaning or maintenance task, make sure to disconnect the lamp from the power supply. The E27 LED bulb is not included and can be replaced when necessary.

Design and use

The TILA wall light has a matte black finish that gives it a defined character without being eye-catching. It is a color that works well on both white or light walls and in darker environments, and fits easily into interiors with a Nordic style, although it does not look out of place in spaces with a more industrial or minimalist aesthetic.

The structure is made of steel, which gives it stability and a solid feel to the touch. The integrated shelf is one of the most practical elements of this design: it has just enough space to rest a paperback book or a magazine without taking up too much room. In a bedroom, that small gesture significantly changes the dynamics of the space, because it eliminates the need for an additional surface just to leave things for the night.

The light beam is adjustable, which makes this wall light an adaptable lamp. It can be directed toward the book being read, toward a specific area of the room, or simply upward to achieve a more ambient light. This flexibility is especially useful when two people share a bedroom and each needs their own light zone without disturbing the other.

As for installation, the option to choose between an exposed or concealed cable is a detail that many people appreciate. It is not always possible to embed the wiring, and having that option makes the wall light viable in more situations: rental rooms, partial renovations or spaces where you do not want to intervene in the wall more than necessary.

Although it is primarily designed for the bedroom, this wall light works well in other spaces. In hallways, for example, it provides directed light without taking up floor space. In a living room with a reading area, it can be combined with a floor lamp or a ceiling light to create different levels of lighting. It could also make sense in a well-ventilated bathroom or in the vanity area, as long as the electrical installation is appropriate for that environment.

The design is by Estudi Ribaudí, a studio that regularly works with FARO and has a clear approach: creating pieces that are useful before being decorative, even if the result ends up being both. TILA is a good example of that. It does not try to draw attention, but it does not go unnoticed either. It has presence without imposing itself.

For those renovating their bedroom or looking for a tidier reading light solution than a table lamp, this wall light meets the need cleanly. It takes up little space, provides light where it is needed and adds an element of order with the shelf. In a space where comfort and calm are sought, that kind of detail matters.
