Overview

The SUAU wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for those who want to read comfortably without having to rearrange the entire room. It was designed by the Nahtrang studio with a clear focus: to provide warm, directed light with a profile that does not take up visual space on the wall.

What makes this wall light different is the combination of its matte white finish with an integrated USB-C port. This way, while the lamp illuminates, it also allows a device to be charged without the need for additional plugs. A practical solution for the bedroom or any reading corner.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior lighting. Their products are designed for real spaces, with attention to detail in both design and functionality.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, it is recommended to hire an electrician, as it requires a direct connection to the electrical mains. Before starting the installation, make sure to cut the power supply at the distribution panel. The wall light is fixed directly to the wall using anchors appropriate for the surface type: drywall, brick, or concrete. The junction box must remain accessible but hidden behind the lamp body once installed.

To clean the surface of this wall light, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte white finish. Do not handle the lamp while it is connected to the power supply. The LED light source is included and does not require regular replacement, but in the event of a failure, consult a professional.

Design and use

The SUAU wall light has a compact, clean shape that adapts effortlessly to walls of different colours and finishes. Its aluminium and steel body gives it solidity without adding visual weight. The matte white is a finish that does not reflect ambient light and remains neutral in both light environments and on walls with dark tones.

The colour temperature of 3000K produces a warm light, close to traditional incandescent light. This type of lighting is particularly suitable for reading without straining the eyes, and also helps create a calm atmosphere in the bedroom before sleep. It is not a cold working light; it is a light that accompanies.

The lamp includes a USB-C port, which makes it more than just a light point on the wall. In the bedroom, for example, it allows a phone or tablet to charge while reading, without cables crossing the floor or visible power strips. It is a feature that, once you have it, is hard to do without.

In the living room, this wall light works well as supplementary lighting next to a sofa or reading chair. It is not a lamp designed to illuminate the entire room, but to create a specific point of light where it is needed. In spaces where general lighting is already taken care of, a wall light like this adds character and functionality at the same time.

In the dining room it can be placed on a side wall to complement the central light. In a dining room with a modern aesthetic and neutral colours, the matte white of the SUAU fits in without clashing. Similarly, in a narrow hallway, where a pendant lamp would not have space, this wall light solves the lighting efficiently and with a good appearance.

In the bathroom, provided it is installed in an area away from the shower or bathtub and with proper care regarding the wiring, it can work as supplementary lighting next to the mirror or above an auxiliary unit. The discreet design fits well in both fully white bathrooms and those featuring materials such as wood or grey finishes.

The compatibility of this wall light with different interior styles is broad. Its minimalist lines make it work well in Nordic-style environments, in interiors with a tendency towards clean design, or in homes where visual order is sought. It does not compete with other decorative elements; rather, it fades into the background and lets the space speak for itself.

For hallways with little natural light, installing one or more wall lights of this type at an intermediate height noticeably improves the sense of spaciousness. The warm light it casts avoids the coldness that hallways sometimes have when lit solely by ceiling lamps with white light.

Its compact size, at just 170 mm in height and 97 mm in length, makes it suitable for spaces where the wall light should not dominate the wall. Even being small, it performs well as a reading lamp thanks to the integrated high-power LED.

Questions and answers

Does the USB-C port on the SUAU wall light allow devices to be charged while the lamp is on?

Yes. The USB-C port is integrated into the body of the wall light and operates independently of the lighting. You can charge a device even when the lamp is switched off, as long as the wall light is connected to the electrical mains.

Is the colour temperature of 3000K suitable for reading over extended periods?

3000K corresponds to a warm light similar to that of traditional incandescent bulbs. It is a temperature that is comfortable for reading because it does not cause the eye strain that cooler light can produce. It is the usual choice for lamps intended for prolonged use in the bedroom or living room.

Is the SUAU wall light compatible with most domestic electrical installations?

Yes. It operates within a voltage range of 100V to 240V, making it compatible with standard installations in Spain and in most countries. No additional adapters or transformers are required.
