Overview

The ROB wall light by FARO is a wall lamp with an integrated reading light, designed for areas where directed and comfortable lighting is needed. It mounts directly on the wall and has a switch on the base, allowing you to turn it on and off without getting up or reaching for the main switch. It is a practical solution for the bedroom, living room, or any reading corner where comfort matters.

The body is matte white, with a clean finish that doesn't draw too much attention but doesn't go unnoticed either. Its compact profile makes it useful in spaces where room is limited, and its simplified design allows it to fit into modern environments effortlessly.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in interior and exterior lighting. Their products combine functionality with careful design, and are intended for both residential use and hospitality and commercial projects.

Installation and specifications

Installing this wall light requires an accessible power outlet or a fixed wiring point on the wall. As a surface-mounted wall luminaire, it is installed directly onto the wall without the need for building work. It is recommended to consult an electrician if you have no experience with electrical connections. The supported voltage ranges from 100V to 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical installation in Spain and most of the world.

To clean the lamp, a soft, slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte white finish of the body should not be used. Always disconnect the wall light from the power supply before cleaning. The LED light source is included and does not require frequent replacement thanks to its long service life.

Design and use

The ROB wall light has a compact structure built from steel and aluminium, two materials that combine strength with a contained weight. The result is a lamp that is lightweight — under half a kilogram — yet solid, retaining its shape and finish over time. The matte white colour of the body is neutral and versatile: it neither dominates the space nor imposes a particular style.

A reading wall light is a type of wall lamp designed to provide light at a precise point. In the bedroom, it allows reading without disturbing others. In the living room, it can illuminate a sofa or reading armchair without the need for a floor lamp. In hallways and passageways, it provides warm, directed light that guides without glaring. It also works well in hotel rooms, clinics, care homes, or any hospitality project where a functional and discreet wall light is desired.

The colour temperature of 3000K produces warm light, similar to that of a classic incandescent bulb. This tone is pleasant for spaces where people rest or read, as it does not strain the eyes or create a cold feeling. In a bedroom or a living room with warm colours, this light integrates naturally. In hallways, it creates a welcoming atmosphere without being too dim.

The switch integrated into the base is one of the most practical features of this wall light. There is no need to install an additional switch on the wall or to rely on the room's main switch. This simplifies both installation and daily use. In a bedroom, for example, it allows the lamp to be turned on or off from the bed without any effort.

The design of ROB is deliberately simple. It has no ornaments and does not seek to stand out. It is a lamp that fulfils its function without visual distractions. This sobriety makes it compatible with modern, Nordic, or minimalist interior styles, but also with more neutral spaces or those undergoing renovation. Being white and slim in profile, it does not clash with other decorative elements and allows the rest of the environment to speak.

For restoration or commercial projects — hotels, holiday apartments, consulting rooms — it is a coherent option: the cost is contained, installation is straightforward, and the finish is polished enough to convey order and quality. It can be installed in the bathroom next to the mirror, in the bedroom on both sides of the bed, in long hallways, or in any room where a specific point of light is needed without resorting to a complex installation.

The high-power LED light source is already included, eliminating the need to search for compatible bulbs. With only 3W of consumption, the energy expenditure is very low. And being LED, the service life is long, reducing the need for maintenance. All of this makes this wall light a practical option for both the home and high-use spaces.

Questions and answers

Does the integrated switch on the base replace the wall switch, or does an additional one need to be installed?

The integrated switch on the base of the wall light allows the lamp to be turned on and off directly from the luminaire, without the need for an additional switch on the wall. This simplifies installation and makes daily use more convenient, especially in bedrooms or reading areas.

Is a colour temperature of 3000K suitable for a bedroom, or is it too intense?

At 3000K the light is warm, similar to that of a traditional bulb. It is a tone that does not strain the eyes and is pleasant for reading or resting. It is one of the most common colour temperatures in bedrooms and living rooms for precisely this reason.

Can the ROB wall light be installed in the bathroom?

The manufacturer's specifications do not indicate a specific IP protection rating for this model. For this reason, it is recommended to install it in areas of the bathroom away from direct splashes, such as next to the mirror in a dry bathroom, and not in wet zones or areas with direct contact with water.
