Overview

CRONOS is a wall light by FARO designed for those looking for a functional lamp that takes up no space and doesn't draw too much attention. It mounts directly on the wall and serves a specific purpose: providing reading light exactly where it's needed, with no loose cables or elements that complicate the overall setup.

The detail that sets it apart is its switching mechanism. The reader activates when you lift it, with no button to press. It's a natural, almost automatic gesture that feels comfortable in the bedroom before sleep or in any corner where you read regularly.

FARO is a company with a long track record in the lighting industry. Their products combine durable materials with a design that doesn't impose itself on the surroundings, but instead integrates into them discreetly.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, it is advisable to turn off the power supply before starting. The fixture mounts directly to the wall, so it is recommended to locate the anchor points carefully and ensure that the surface is solid. If there are any doubts about the existing wiring, the safest course of action is to consult an electrician before proceeding.

The bronze finish is sensitive to abrasive products. To clean the surface, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid cleaners containing alcohol or solvents, as they can damage the finish over time.

Design and use

The CRONOS wall light has a compact body made of steel and aluminium, two materials that combine strength with a contained weight. At just 0.4 kg, it places no burden on the wall, and its small dimensions make it especially suitable for spaces where every centimetre matters. The bronze finish adds visual warmth without being eye-catching, and it fits well both in interiors with clean lines and in settings with more classic elements.

The lamp emits light at 2700K, a colour temperature that feels warm and pleasant, similar to that of a traditional incandescent bulb. This tone is particularly well-suited to the bedroom, where overly cool light can make it harder to wind down. In that context, the wall light works well as a night-time reading light: it concentrates illumination exactly where it is needed without disturbing the rest of the space or the person sleeping beside you.

In the living room, it can serve a complementary role. Next to a reading armchair or beside a bookshelf, this wall light adds a practical point of light that does not depend on the room's central lighting. It allows you to create zones within the same space without installing new floor lamps or rearranging the furniture.

In hallways, the CRONOS wall light also makes sense. Its flat profile and compact size do not interfere with movement, and the warm light it emits is sufficient for orientation without needing to turn on the general lighting. In longer hallways, several fixtures of the same model create an orderly and uniform visual sequence.

In the kitchen, it can be positioned above a specific work area, such as the countertop or a small integrated desk. The high-power LED lamp concentrates light efficiently, and its 4 W consumption makes it quite modest in energy terms. In the dining room, installed above a sideboard or next to a picture, it can serve as a decorative element as well as a practical one.

The bathroom is another space where this type of wall light is well received. Next to the mirror, in a room with good ventilation, the wall can become the ideal support for directed light that makes grooming tasks easier. In bathrooms with a considered design, the bronze finish pairs well with taps and accessories in the same tone.

The switch-on mechanism that activates when the reader arm is lifted is perhaps the most distinctive aspect of this wall light. There is no visible switch, no button to search for in the dark. The gesture of raising the arm to read directly activates the light, and lowering it turns it off. It is a simple solution that, in practice, is genuinely appreciated.

Questions and answers

Can the LED included in the CRONOS wall light be replaced if it stops working?

The light source is a high-power LED integrated into the wall light itself. It is not designed to be replaced independently. In the event of a failure, the most appropriate course of action is to contact FARO's customer service or the point of sale.

What colour temperature does this wall light emit and how does it affect the atmosphere?

The wall light emits light at 2700K, which corresponds to a warm tone. It is a light close to that of a classic incandescent bulb, creating a calm and pleasant atmosphere, especially in bedrooms or rest areas.

How far does the CRONOS wall light protrude from the wall once installed?

The depth of the wall light is 80 mm. This is a moderate measurement that allows the lamp to be installed even in areas with some foot traffic, such as hallways or spaces next to the bed, without getting in the way.
