Overview

The COTTON wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for those who seek decorative lighting without the fixture drawing too much attention to itself. The fabric shade gives it a soft, warm character that fits well in many types of interiors, from a quiet bedroom to a hallway with little natural light.

This wall light works as a complementary light source. It is not designed to illuminate an entire room, but to create a specific point of light: next to a bed, in a corner of the living room, or beside a mirror in the bathroom. That decorative approach is precisely what makes it useful when main lighting already exists and you want to add warmth or depth to the space.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior lighting. Its products are manufactured with attention to detail and are designed to integrate naturally into real homes, not just design catalogues.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, make sure to cut the power at the electrical panel. This wall light requires connection to the mains, so it is recommended that installation be carried out by an electrician or a person with basic electrical knowledge. The fixture mounts directly on the wall, and it is important that the bracket is properly anchored in a solid area of the wall. The power cable must be neatly arranged and protected from the junction box to the wall light.

The fabric shade requires gentle care. To clean it, use a dry or slightly damp cloth, without abrasive products or solvents. The steel structure with a matte white finish can be cleaned with a soft cloth. Avoid direct moisture on the lamp. Do not exceed the maximum rated wattage when choosing the E27 LED bulb.

Design and use

The COTTON wall light has a simple, well-proportioned construction. The body is steel with a matte white finish, a neutral tone that does not compete with other elements in the space. The fabric shade is the element that visually defines this lamp: it filters light softly, without harsh areas or annoying glare. The result is diffused lighting that adds warmth without being intense.

At 370 mm tall and only 100 mm deep, this wall lamp takes up little space and adapts well to walls with limited room, such as narrow hallways or areas next to doors. In the bedroom, a wall light on each side of the bed replaces bedside table lamps without taking up surface space. The light sits at the right height for reading without disturbing the other side of the bed.

In the living room, this type of wall light works well as ambient lighting. Placed on a side wall, it complements the main lighting and adds a layer of warmth to the space. It is not a lamp designed to illuminate a work desk, but to create a more relaxed atmosphere during moments of rest.

In the kitchen, a wall light can be useful in passageways or as a secondary light source near a side worktop. In the dining room, placed on the wall beside the table, it can contribute to a more intimate light during dinners. The matte white finish integrates easily into both modern kitchens and dining rooms with a more classic or Nordic style.

The bathroom is another space where this wall light fits well, as long as it is installed in an area without direct exposure to water. A wall light next to the mirror offers more flattering light than overhead lighting. Hallways, especially those without windows, also benefit from this type of lamp: it provides enough light to move around without requiring a complex installation.

The fabric shade gives the lamp a character that could be described as soft and somewhat timeless. It is not an industrial or rustic piece, but neither is it strictly modern in the most technical sense. That neutrality makes it compatible with a variety of interiors: from a room with light wood furniture to a living room with neutral tones and clean lines. It can also pair well with other decorative textures such as linen, cotton, or natural materials.

The net weight of 0.22 kg confirms that it is a lightweight piece, easy to install even on plasterboard walls if the appropriate fixings are used. Compatibility with voltages from 100V to 240V makes it suitable for use in different countries without additional adapters.
