Overview

The FARO COTTON lamp is a wall sconce with a round fabric shade, designed for those looking for decorative lighting without sacrificing a neat and pleasant finish. It mounts directly on the wall and works well both in small spaces and in larger rooms where you want to add a characterful light source.

This sconce fits naturally in the bedroom, living room, dining room, or hallway. The round fabric shade softens the light and prevents direct glare, making the atmosphere more comfortable on the eyes. The steel body in a matte black finish gives it visual stability without being too imposing.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long track record in interior lighting. Their products combine functionality with aesthetic sensibility, and are designed to integrate into real domestic environments, not just catalogue photographs.

Installation and specifications

Installing this wall sconce requires an electrical connection point on the wall or a cable coming out of it. As it is a surface-mounted luminaire with direct fixing, it is recommended to carefully mark the anchor points before drilling. If there is no existing electrical installation at the chosen location, it is preferable to have an electrician carry out the work safely. Check that the wall support is firm before fixing the sconce.

The fabric shade requires gentle maintenance. To clean it, use a dry or slightly damp cloth without harsh chemical products. The steel body can be cleaned with a damp cloth and dried immediately to avoid marks. Before any cleaning, disconnect the lamp from the power supply.

Design and use

The COTTON sconce has a clean round shape that does not draw attention to itself, but rather to the space it illuminates. The fabric shade diffuses light evenly, without creating harsh shadows or bright spots that cause discomfort. This makes it a practical option for places where light needs to be functional but also pleasant.

The body is made of steel with a matte black finish, a color that works well in modern interiors as well as in spaces with more classic elements. It neither reflects nor stands out excessively. The structure is compact, with dimensions of 200 mm in height, 150 mm in length, and 120 mm in depth, allowing it to be installed even on walls where available space is limited.

In the bedroom it works as a lateral reading light or as a complement to the main lighting. Two sconces on either side of the bed create a balanced light distribution and give the overall arrangement a sense of order. In the living room it can be used to highlight a specific corner or to soften the transition between activity and rest areas.

In the dining room, a sconce like this can reinforce the atmosphere without competing with the central lamp. In the bathroom, as long as it is installed in an area without direct water projection, it provides a warmer and more enveloping light than that typically offered by conventional ceiling luminaires. Even in small bathrooms it can make the space feel more welcoming.

In hallways, this type of sconce handles the lighting well without the need to install ceiling light points. In long hallways, several sconces distributed at the same height create a continuous visual guide that also improves the overall appearance of the space.

The round fabric shade fits with very different decorative approaches. It works alongside materials such as wood or rattan without creating visual tension. It also integrates well in Nordic-style interiors or in spaces where neutral tones and natural materials predominate. The black finish of the body adds a touch of contrast without becoming industrial or aggressive.

Using an E27 LED bulb (not included) allows you to choose the color temperature that best suits each room. A warmer light encourages rest in the bedroom or living room, while a more neutral light can be useful in the bathroom or work areas. The sconce supports up to 15 W, which is more than sufficient for an efficient LED source.

Due to its reduced weight of less than 200 grams, it does not require complex anchoring. Even so, it is advisable to secure the bracket firmly so that it stays in place without movement. The lamp is designed for permanent installation, not as a temporary element.
