Overview

ACADEMY is a wall light designed for residential lighting. It works well in the bedroom, living room, hallway, or any space where directed and controlled light is needed. Its main advantage is that it allows you to adjust the intensity, making it especially useful as a reading lamp next to the bed or in a work corner.

The wall light has a simple and classic style that does not compete with the rest of the environment. It adapts effortlessly to already decorated interiors without drawing too much attention to itself. The chrome finish of the body and the opal diffuser give it a clean and neat appearance.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in interior lighting. Their products are designed for everyday home use, with attention to detail and proven quality materials.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, check that the wall is free of hidden cables in the fixing area. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician if you have no experience with electrical installations. Make sure to disconnect the power before starting. The wall light is fixed directly to the wall and requires a pre-existing connection point at the chosen location.

To clean the surface of the chrome steel body, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the finish. The PMMA diffuser can be cleaned in the same way. Do not touch the LED source directly with your fingers. Always turn off the lamp before any cleaning.

Design and use

The ACADEMY wall light by FARO has a sober construction. The body is made of steel with a chrome finish, which gives it a certain presence without appearing overloaded. The diffuser is made of PMMA with an opal finish, a material that distributes light evenly and prevents direct glare. This is especially useful when used as a reading lamp, as the light reaches the book or screen without tiring the eyes.

The colour temperature of 3000K produces a warm light, close to traditional incandescent light. It is a tone that is pleasant in relaxing environments. A bedroom well lit at this temperature invites you to unwind at night without the light feeling cold or clinical.

The wall light works with integrated LED technology, which means it comes ready to use from the very first moment. You do not need to buy a bulb separately. The consumption of 4W is low for the amount of light it produces, and the voltage range of 100V to 240V makes it compatible with electrical installations in different countries.

The ability to dim the light is one of the most practical features of the model. You can lower the intensity at night in the bedroom or increase it when you need more brightness for reading. This function is also useful in the living room, where lighting can vary depending on the time of day or the activity.

In the bathroom, a wall light with these characteristics can be placed on either side of the mirror to achieve balanced lighting without shadows on the face. The warm light at 3000K is more flattering in this type of space than cooler tones. In bathrooms with little natural light, a well-positioned wall light greatly changes the perception of the space.

In hallways, the ACADEMY wall light works well when two or more units are installed at regular intervals. Narrow hallways benefit from direct wall lighting that does not take up visual space. The neutral design of the wall light allows it to be combined with different styles without looking out of place.

In the kitchen, it can be used as supplementary lighting above the worktop or next to a work area. The kitchen is a space where functional lighting plays an important role, and a dimmable lamp allows adaptation to different tasks. It can also be placed in the dining room as secondary ambient lighting, complementing the main lamp above the table.

The ACADEMY model is also available as a table lamp and a floor lamp, making it possible to create a coherent composition in the same room using pieces from the same family. Having the same design in different formats makes it easier for the overall space to have a coordinated look without appearing monotonous.

Questions and answers

Does the wall light include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The SMD LED light source is included. The wall light arrives ready to install and connect directly, with no need to purchase any additional bulb.

Does the PMMA opal diffuser yellow over time or deteriorate from the heat of the LED?

PMMA is a material that is stable at the temperatures generated by a 4W LED. Unlike some conventional plastics, it maintains its appearance with continued use under normal indoor conditions.

Is the dimming function compatible with any standard dimmer or does it require a specific one?

For the dimming to work correctly, it is advisable to use a dimmer compatible with low-power LED loads. Not all standard dimmers are compatible with LED, so it is worth verifying this before installation.
