Overview

The WHIZZ wall light by FARO is a designer lamp created by Christoph Friedrich Wagner. It combines black steel with satin gold finishes, making it a piece that effortlessly draws attention. It is designed to use a decorative E27 LED filament bulb, which is not included, but which you can choose according to the atmosphere you want to create.

This wall light fits well in spaces where detail matters: a living room with dark furniture, a bedroom with a neutral palette, a hallway that needs a light source with character. The combination of matte black and satin gold remains one of the most sought-after in interior lighting projects, as it balances the contemporary with the timeless.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in the lighting sector. Its products combine functionality with aesthetic criteria, and the WHIZZ family is a good example of that.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light you need to fix the base directly to the wall with anchors suitable for the type of surface. If the wall is made of drywall or hollow materials, use special plugs for that support. The wiring should be integrated into the wall or covered with a cable duct. If you have no experience with electrical installations, the safest option is to have it fitted by an electrician.

Clean the steel body with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or those containing solvents, as they can damage the black finish or the gold detail. Do not wet the electrical parts. Always turn off the lamp before changing the bulb or cleaning the wall light.

Design and use

The WHIZZ wall light has generous dimensions: 840 mm high, 250 mm long and 430 mm deep. This makes it particularly suitable for walls with sufficient space, where it can be seen without feeling cramped. In a living room with standard or higher ceiling heights, this wall light works as a visual element that anchors the space.

The body is made of steel, finished in black. It is a material that does not deform, does not deteriorate with normal use and maintains its finish for years if well cared for. The contrast between the black body and the satin gold details is what gives this lamp its character. It is not a bright or aggressive gold, but a warm and restrained tone that integrates without overwhelming.

The lamp is designed to use a decorative filament bulb with an E27 cap. This type of bulb adds a touch of visual warmth that complements the aesthetic of the wall light. The light projected by an LED filament bulb is soft and directional, allowing atmospheres to be created without the need to install multiple light points.

In a bedroom, this wall light can be placed on either side of the headboard as a substitute for bedside lamps. It frees up surface space and gives a sense of order. In a dining room, it can be used as supporting light above a sideboard or along a side wall, complementing the main lamp above the table. In a living room, it works well next to a sofa, a console table or in any corner where you want to add light and presence.

In the bathroom it can be an interesting option if the space allows, provided it is installed away from areas of direct moisture. The same applies in larger bathrooms, where a wall light with this level of design can transform the perception of the space. In long hallways, placing one or two wall lights of this type at regular intervals resolves the lighting in an elegant and decoratively considered way.

This lamp is part of a wider family. WHIZZ is also available as an extendable wall light, floor lamp, pendant lamp and pendant-floor lamp. This allows several pieces from the same line to be combined in different rooms or in the same space, maintaining visual coherence without everything looking identical.

The black finish pairs well with dark wood, marble, earth-toned walls or white lacquered surfaces. It does not require a specific style, although it fits particularly well in interiors with a modern approach or with industrial design touches. The clean lines of the body and the gold detail move it away from the strictly functional and closer to the decorative, without losing utility.

Questions and answers

How much does the WHIZZ wall light weigh and what type of wall does it need for installation?

The wall light weighs 1.67 kg. It can be installed on solid, brick or concrete walls with the appropriate plugs and screws. On drywall, it is recommended to use specific anchors for that material to ensure a stable fixing.

Is the E27 LED bulb included with the wall light?

No, the bulb is not included. The wall light accepts E27 LED bulbs with a maximum power of 15W. It is recommended to use a decorative filament bulb to make the most of the lamp's aesthetic.

Can the WHIZZ wall light be installed in bathrooms or areas with moisture?

This wall light is rated for indoor use. In bathrooms, it can be installed away from areas of direct moisture. For areas with direct exposure to water or steam, a product with an appropriate IP protection rating would be required, which this model does not specify.
