Overview

This matte black wall light is a lamp designed for those who want the bulb to speak for itself. There is no shade blocking anything, no shapes to distract. The spotlight falls directly on the light source, and this creates a very specific effect: the space gains character without the lamp visually dominating it.

It adapts well to different environments. It works in a bedroom where discreet lateral lighting is desired, in a living room with dark or neutral walls, or in a hallway where space is limited and every centimeter counts. It also fits in a bathroom when placed next to a mirror, or in a kitchen where a light point with personality is wanted without overloading the atmosphere.

The design is by the FARO team, a Spanish brand with years of experience in interior lighting. Their usual approach combines functionality with clean lines, and this wall light is a good example of that.

Installation and specifications

For installation, this wall light is fixed directly to the wall using the appropriate anchors for the type of surface. As a surface-mounted luminaire, it does not require a recessed box. Before mounting, make sure the electrical point on the wall is switched off and de-energized. The wiring must be neatly gathered inside the aluminum body before tightening the final fixing. If you have no experience with electrical installations, it is recommended that an electrician carries it out.

The aluminum body can be cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could affect the matte black finish. Do not clean the lamp with the power connected. Replace the bulb only when the lamp is cold and disconnected.

Design and use

The body of this wall light is made of aluminum, a material that combines lightness and durability. Weighing just 0.24 kg, fixing it to the wall is straightforward and does not require a special support. The dimensions are compact: 60 mm in height, 60 mm in length and 140 mm in depth. That elongated profile is what visually directs the eye toward the bulb, which is left exposed and centered in the composition.

The matte black finish is one of the strengths of this wall light. It does not reflect light aggressively and integrates well with both white walls and dark tones or concrete textures. In a kitchen with grey or black cabinets, this wall light reinforces visual coherence effortlessly. In a dining room with warm tones, it creates a clean contrast that gives character to the space.

In the bedroom, placed at bedside table height, this wall light replaces the classic table lamp and frees up surface space. The light it produces depends on the bulb chosen, as one is not included. Using a warm white E27 LED bulb, the result in the bedroom is soft and enveloping. With a neutral white LED, the effect shifts toward something more alert, more suitable for work or reading areas.

In the living room, this type of wall light works well as accent lighting. It does not need to be the main source of illumination, but rather a complement that adds depth and defines areas. Placed next to a bookcase or above a sofa, it creates a focal point that visually organizes the space.

In the bathroom, the compact scale of the wall light allows it to be installed without taking up too much room. It is especially useful next to the mirror, where it provides direct and uniform light for daily grooming. Also in narrow hallways, where a ceiling lamp would cast uncomfortable shadows, this wall light offers a more practical alternative.

The minimalist style of the design makes it compatible with interiors of different registers. It works well with industrial, Nordic, and contemporary styles. There are no ornaments, no decorative details that anchor it to a specific aesthetic. That neutrality is precisely what makes it versatile. In rooms that already feature wooden elements, natural textiles or straight-lined furniture, this wall light integrates without competing.

Placing two units of this wall light symmetrically in a dining room, on either side of a painting or mirror, produces a very balanced effect. Also in larger bathrooms, two wall lights at the same height flanking the mirror provide more uniform light than a single centered source.

Questions and answers

Does the E27 socket on this wall light accept any type of bulb with that fitting, or are there power restrictions?

The socket is a standard E27, but the maximum supported power is 15 W. It is important not to exceed that limit to avoid overheating. Within that range, you can choose the color temperature that best suits the space where you plan to install the wall light.

Is the matte black aluminum body resistant to bathroom humidity?

The product specifications do not include a certified IP protection rating, so it is not recommended for installation in areas with direct exposure to water or intense steam. For a dry or well-ventilated bathroom, with the wall light placed away from the shower, its use is appropriate.

Does this wall light require a recessed box for installation?

No. As a surface-mounted luminaire, it is fixed directly onto the wall. You only need an electrical point on the wall and the appropriate anchors for the type of surface. No additional masonry work is required.
