Overview

The SUAU wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for those looking for a specific light source without cluttering the space. Designed by Nahtrang, this wall light has a clean, restrained line that fits effortlessly into rooms where visual order matters. The matte black finish gives it presence without bulk, and the compact size allows it to be installed even where space is tight.

What sets this wall light apart is its combination of functions in a single body: it has an integrated switch on the base and a USB input, making it a practical solution for reading or rest areas. The warm LED light it projects creates an intimate atmosphere without being too intense. There is no need to touch any other switch in the room to turn it on or off.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior and exterior lighting. Their catalogue combines careful design with durable materials, and the SUAU wall light reflects that philosophy well: simple, well-finished and built to last.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light correctly, you need a wall socket or recessed wiring at the chosen point. Before starting the installation, cut the power supply from the main panel. As it is a surface-mounted luminaire with wall fixing, the screws and anchoring bracket must be placed on a firm surface. If the wall is made of plasterboard or hollow material, use plugs specific to that type of support. It is recommended to consult an electrician if you have no experience with electrical installations.

To clean the lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not apply abrasive products or solvents to the matte black finish, as they can damage the surface. Avoid handling the lamp with wet hands and do not clean it while the wall light is on. The LED light source is included and does not require regular replacement given its extended lifespan.

Design and use

The SUAU wall light is constructed from aluminium and steel, two materials that combine lightness and solidity. The structure is compact — 170 mm high, 97 mm long and 140 mm deep — allowing it to be installed on walls where the space between furniture or architectural elements is limited. The weight of 0.67 kg makes anchoring straightforward and means the wall does not require special reinforcement under normal conditions.

The matte black finish gives the wall light a discreet yet defined presence. It is not a lamp that seeks to draw attention, but rather one that integrates into the environment without creating visual noise. It works well alongside upholstered bed headboards, wooden shelves or metal structures. In a bedroom with light tones, it acts as a clean point of contrast. In a space with a darker or industrial aesthetic, it simply becomes part of the whole in a natural way.

The 3000K LED light it emits is warm, the kind that does not strain the eyes and creates a pleasant atmosphere for prolonged reading. There is no direct glare, and the projection is designed to illuminate a specific area without affecting the rest of the room. This makes it especially useful in bedrooms where one person wants to read without disturbing another. In the living room, it can be installed next to a reading armchair to create a corner with its own light. In the dining room, a wall light of these characteristics adds a layer of light that complements the central lighting.

The switch on the base of the wall light is a detail that simplifies daily use. There is no need to get up or look for the wall switch: the control is within arm's reach. The integrated USB input allows charging a phone or other devices without needing an additional adapter or occupying a nearby socket. This is especially practical on bedside tables with little space or in compact work areas.

The SUAU wall light also fits well in hallways where targeted lighting is sought without installing ceiling luminaires. In those spaces, a well-placed wall lamp guides the way and adds warmth without overloading the ceiling. In the bathroom, although compatibility with the installation area and applicable regulations must always be verified, a clean-design wall light like this one can be integrated into dry zones without issue. In the kitchen, near a work area or recipe-reading spot, it fulfils its role as supplementary lighting well.

Nahtrang's design for FARO reflects an approach to lighting: that each lamp has a clear purpose and fulfils it without excess. The SUAU wall light does not try to be decorative above its function, but its carefully considered form means the visual result is always orderly.

Questions and answers

Does the SUAU wall light include the LED light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The LED light source is already included in the wall light. It is not necessary to purchase it separately or carry out any additional bulb installation before using the lamp.

Does the USB input on the wall light allow devices to be charged while the lamp is on, or only when it is off?

The USB input works independently of the light switching. It can be used to charge devices with the wall light on or off, without one function interfering with the other.

Does the integrated switch on the base replace the wall switch, or do both work at the same time?

The switch on the base allows you to control the wall light directly, without needing to operate the wall switch. The usual electrical installation is still required, but the on/off control is located on the lamp body itself.
