Overview

NILO is a wall light designed to illuminate the bathroom with a uniform and pleasant light. Its elongated shape and chrome finish give it a clean look, free of distracting elements. It is a lamp designed to be placed next to the mirror, where lighting makes a difference in daily use.

The light projects both upward and downward, which allows the space to be illuminated without creating uncomfortable shadows on the face. For those looking for a functional wall light with a simple and contemporary style, NILO fulfills that role well.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior luminaires. Its products are found in homes throughout Europe, and its catalogue combines careful design with solid technical criteria.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, check that the wall has an electrical junction box in the correct position. The fixing is directly onto the wall, so it is important to ensure that the surface is level and firm. For installations near water, such as in bathrooms, the connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician familiar with current safety regulations.

To keep the wall light in good condition, clean the aluminium body with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the chrome finish. The PMMA diffuser can be cleaned in the same way, without scrubbing hard. Always disconnect the power before cleaning or handling the lamp.

Design and use

The NILO wall light has an elongated and discreet silhouette that adapts well to different spaces in the home. In the bathroom, its most common function is to flank the mirror or be placed above it, where the warm 3000K light offers a tone similar to natural indoor light. That colour temperature helps you see clearly without feeling cold or harsh.

The body is made of aluminium with a chrome finish. It is a material that withstands moisture and temperature changes typical of a bathroom well, and its surface does not easily accumulate dust. The opal PMMA diffuser spreads the light softly, preventing the light source from being directly exposed to view.

What distinguishes this lamp from other similar wall lights is its bidirectional emission: light exits from both the top and the bottom. This means the mirror area is illuminated in a more balanced way, without one part being left in shadow. In a bathroom where tasks such as applying makeup or shaving are carried out, that distribution makes a real practical difference.

NILO can also be used in other rooms where a wall light with a low profile and clean design is desired. In a hallway, for example, it works well to guide movement with a warm light without the need to install a ceiling of luminaires. In long hallways, several can be placed at regular intervals to achieve continuous lighting.

In a bedroom, this type of wall light works as ambient or reading light if placed at the correct height next to the headboard. The chrome style and elongated shape fit with interiors of straight lines, without being eye-catching or breaking the coherence of the space. It can also be considered in a living room as a complement to the main lighting, adding a light point in a specific area without taking up floor or table space.

The integrated SMD LED technology consumes 18W and does not require bulb replacement. The lamp comes ready to connect, with the light source already included. The universal voltage from 100V to 240V allows it to be used without adapters in different countries.

In terms of design, the wall light integrates well with contemporary interiors where metallic finishes and smooth surfaces predominate. Its length of 900mm makes it visible without being excessive, and its reduced depth allows it to be installed without protruding too much from the wall. For those renovating the bathroom or updating the kitchen lighting without wanting to change the entire décor, NILO offers a modern result with minimal intervention. It can also work in the dining room if a side wall light is sought to complement the central lamp and add depth to the room.

Questions and answers

Is the LED lamp included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The SMD LED light source is included with the wall light. It is not necessary to purchase it separately or carry out any additional bulb installation.

Is this wall light suitable for installation directly in the bathroom, near the sink or shower?

NILO is designed for use in bathrooms. However, for installations in areas close to water, it is recommended that the electrical connection be carried out by a qualified installer, who will verify that safety regulations for wet environments are met.

Does the light only come out on one side or does it illuminate in several directions?

This wall light emits light both upward and downward. That bidirectional distribution is especially useful in the bathroom mirror area, as it avoids shadows and allows for more uniform lighting.
