Overview

The JOY wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for interior lighting. Its round shape and opal glass diffuser make it an option that pairs well with contemporary interiors without being overly eye-catching. It works well in the bedroom, living room, bathroom, or hallway: any space where warm, consistent light is desired without a complicated installation.

The lamp includes an integrated LED light source, so there is no need to purchase bulbs separately. It emits a color temperature of 3000K, which corresponds to warm white light, similar to traditional incandescent light. The body is made of aluminum in a matte white finish, and the opal glass diffuser distributes light evenly across the wall and surrounding area.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in the design and manufacture of luminaires. The JOY series was designed by Nahtrang and reflects a clean, functional aesthetic, intended to adapt to different styles without imposing too strong a character.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, check that the wall has an existing electrical point or that an electrician has prepared the cable outlet in the correct location. As a surface-mounted wall luminaire, installation requires anchoring the base directly to the vertical surface. Make sure to use the appropriate plugs and screws for the type of wall: drywall, brick, and concrete have different requirements. Always disconnect the power before starting any electrical work.

To clean the aluminum body, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte white finish. The glass diffuser can be cleaned with a soft cloth to maintain its transparency and prevent dust from dimming the light output. Do not handle the lamp while it is on or recently switched off, as the surface may be hot.

Design and use

The JOY wall light has a circular silhouette that effortlessly adapts to smooth walls in any room. The matte white aluminum body is discreet and durable: it does not accumulate marks easily and maintains its appearance with minimal maintenance. The lamp does not protrude too far from the wall, making it suitable for narrow hallways or passageways where space is limited.

The opal glass diffuser is one of the most carefully considered elements of the design. The glass filters the LED light so that no bright spots or harsh shadows are visible. A soft, continuous halo appears on the wall and nearby floor, giving the space a sense of calm. This makes it particularly useful in the bedroom, where harsh lighting is unwanted, or in the bathroom, where a light that does not glare in front of the mirror is preferred.

In the living room, the wall light can serve as accent lighting next to a sofa or in a reading area. It does not replace a ceiling lamp in large spaces, but it complements general lighting well and adds a point of light where it is most needed. In the dining room, placed at the right height, it can create a more intimate atmosphere without the main lamp being the only light source.

Hallways are another space where this type of wall light performs particularly well. One or more units distributed along the corridor provide lighting without the need to install additional ceiling points. The wall lamp takes up little volume and its rounded shape does not create angles that could be uncomfortable when passing through.

In the bathroom, the JOY wall light can be installed on the sides of the mirror or above it, provided the installation area permits it according to applicable safety regulations. The warm 3000K light promotes natural facial illumination, without the cool tones that sometimes distort color perception.

Nahtrang's design for this series favors the circular form without additional ornamentation. There are no decorative details that collect dust or complex structures that make cleaning difficult. The lamp is equally suitable in a more Nordic interior design style or in one with more classic lines, without its presence disrupting the overall coherence. The black finish, available as an alternative, expands the possibilities for those seeking a stronger contrast in interiors with dark palettes or wrought iron elements.

The operating voltage between 100V and 240V allows this lamp to be installed without adapters in any standard home. The 3W consumption is very low for the level of lighting comfort it provides, making it a reasonable option for leaving it on for several hours a day without causing a notable impact on the household's electricity consumption.

Questions and answers

Does the JOY wall light include the LED light source, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The lamp includes the integrated SMD LED light source. No additional bulb is required for it to function.

Is the 3000K color temperature suitable for using the wall light in the bathroom or bedroom?

Yes. 3000K corresponds to warm white light, similar to traditional incandescent light. It is a comfortable temperature for both the bathroom and the bedroom, where a relaxed atmosphere without cool tones is desired.

Is the matte white aluminum body resistant to the typical humidity found in indoor spaces such as the kitchen or bathroom?
