Overview

The FOLD wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for interior lighting in domestic spaces. Its rectangular steel structure in matte white and its fabric shade give it a contemporary character that fits well in a bedroom, living room, or hallway alike. It is not an accent lamp or purely decorative: it serves a dual function, combining ambient lighting with an integrated LED reader, making it especially useful beside the bed or in a reading nook.

What sets FOLD apart is that combination of design and everyday use. The upper piece that projects toward the diffuser directs light with precision, without requiring you to manually adjust the angle. The switch is integrated into the base of the wall light, so you don't need to search for the cable or get up to turn it off.

FARO is a brand with a long track record in the lighting industry, known for collections that balance design and functionality. FOLD is part of that product line where aesthetics do not come before practicality.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, it is recommended to have an existing power point in the wall or to carry out the installation with the help of an electrician. Before securing the structure, check that the surface is solid and can support the weight of the wall light. The wiring must be concealed or properly gathered before adjusting the body of the wall light to the wall. Do not forget that the E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.

To keep the wall light in good condition, clean the steel body with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte white finish. The fabric shade can be cleaned with a dry cloth or a soft brush. Do not use the wall light if there are signs of damage to the wiring. Always disconnect the power before changing the bulb or carrying out any maintenance task.

Design and use

FOLD is a collection created by Nutcreatives for FARO. The name refers to the shape of the wall light: a rectangular structure with a piece that projects outward from the top, guiding light toward the diffuser. That constructive detail is not merely aesthetic: it defines how the lighting is distributed in the space.

The body is made of steel, a material that provides solidity without adding excessive weight. The matte white finish is discreet and does not draw attention to itself, allowing the lamp to integrate without conflict into light or dark walls. It is not a piece that seeks the spotlight, but rather one that accompanies the overall space.

The fabric shade is one of the most relevant elements of this wall light. Unlike glass or plastic diffusers, fabric filters light in a softer way, which is pleasant in spaces where artificial light coexists with moments of rest. In a bedroom, that softness makes the difference between lighting that helps you relax and lighting that is bothersome.

The integrated LED reader adds a specific function that goes beyond ambient lighting. It allows light to be concentrated on a specific area without needing to turn on the entire room. This is especially useful in the bedroom, where one person can read without disturbing the other, or in a living room where you want to illuminate a particular corner without altering the general atmosphere.

The switch integrated into the base of the wall light is a practical detail that is appreciated in everyday use. It does not depend on an external plug or a remote control: it is on the body of the lamp itself, accessible without effort.

As for the spaces where it can be installed, the versatility of FOLD is genuine. In the bedroom it replaces the bedside lamp, freeing up surface space while maintaining the reading function. In the living room it can be placed on either side of a sofa or flanking a bookcase. In the dining room it provides complementary lighting that softens the central light. In the bathroom, provided the installation allows it, a wall light of these characteristics can work well next to the mirror. In hallways, where focused lighting makes sense, FOLD fits without generating excessive illumination.

The voltage range of 100V-240V makes the wall light compatible with electrical installations in different countries, which is useful if you ever need to move it or if the property has a non-standard installation.

In terms of style, FOLD is modern without being flashy. Its clean lines and neutral finish make it compatible with Nordic-style interiors, minimalist spaces, or rooms where several decorative elements coexist. It does not impose a particular style, but rather adapts to the one that already exists.

Questions and answers

Does the FOLD wall light include the E27 LED bulb at the time of purchase?

No, the light source is not included. It is necessary to purchase an E27 LED bulb separately, with a maximum power of 15 W.

Does the switch integrated into the base also control the LED reader?

The switch integrated into the base of the wall light allows you to manage the use of the lamp directly from the body, without needing to go to the wall switch. The LED reading function is part of the wall light as a whole and operates through the same system.

Do the dimensions of the wall light make it suitable for spaces with limited wall space?

With 200 mm in length, 300 mm in height, and 220 mm in depth, it is a compact-sized wall light. It can be installed on walls with limited space, although the 220 mm depth should be taken into account if there is furniture or other elements nearby.
