Overview

The DANUBIO 285 wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for the bathroom. It mounts directly to the wall and provides comfortable, even light in a space where lighting matters more than it might seem. Shaving, applying makeup, simply starting the day — all of this improves when the light is properly positioned.

The body is made of aluminium with a chrome finish, and the opal glass diffuser distributes light without creating bright spots or harsh shadows. LED technology is already integrated, so there is no need to search for bulbs or worry about compatibility.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in home lighting. Their products are designed for real spaces, not just for catalogues.

Installation and specifications

To install the wall light, a recessed electrical box or a cable outlet point at the intended location is required. It must be mounted on a solid surface capable of supporting the weight of the fixture. Installation by a qualified electrician is recommended, especially in bathrooms, where specific electrical safety regulations apply. Before starting any work, make sure the circuit is de-energised.

The chrome aluminium body can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish must be avoided. The glass diffuser can also be cleaned with a damp cloth, taking care not to apply excessive pressure. Internal components should not be handled, and the LED module should not be replaced independently.

Design and use

The DANUBIO 285 wall light takes up little space on the wall but performs its function well. At 285 mm in length and only 80 mm in depth, it fits without difficulty on walls with limited clearance or in spaces where a bulkier lamp would not work.

The aluminium body gives it solidity without adding unnecessary weight. The chrome finish is clean and understated, without ornamental details that might clash with different bathroom styles. It works equally well alongside classic white tiles as in a bathroom with more modern, geometric finishes. Aluminium is also a material that resists the conditions found in bathrooms: humidity, temperature changes, and daily use.

The opal glass diffuser does something important: it softens the light before it reaches the room. Instead of a direct, concentrated light source, what you get is a diffused clarity that illuminates without causing discomfort. This is especially useful in bathrooms where the lamp is at eye level, whether beside the mirror or above the washbasin. The light at 2700K is warm, similar to that of a traditional incandescent bulb, which makes the space feel welcoming without losing functionality.

The integrated LED technology consumes 9 W, which is a low figure for the amount of light it delivers. There is no need to worry about changing bulbs or finding replacements: the light source is part of the fixture and is designed to last.

Although the DANUBIO 285 is designed for the bathroom, its understated design and size make it compatible with other areas of the home. In a hallway, it works well as a supplementary light point, as it does not cast annoying shadows and makes good use of the wall. It can also work in a bedroom as a side reading light, mounted next to the headboard. In passageways or in the dining room as accent lighting on a specific wall, it provides light without drawing too much attention to itself.

In larger bathrooms, a light can be placed on each side of the mirror to achieve balanced facial illumination, without lateral shadows. This solution is common in carefully designed bathrooms and is far more practical than a single lamp centred on the ceiling. The chrome finish of the DANUBIO 285 integrates easily with taps and bathroom accessories in the same tone, giving visual coherence to the whole.

For those renovating the bathroom or updating the lighting without undertaking a full refurbishment, this wall light is a straightforward option: it connects to the existing electrical point, requires no additional materials, and the result is immediate. The wall looks tidy, the light is pleasant, and the finish is durable.

Questions and answers

Is the LED lamp included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The SMD LED module is already integrated into the wall light. There is no need to purchase any additional light source or check for compatibility.

Does the chrome finish on the body hold up well against bathroom humidity?

The aluminium body with chrome finish is suitable for environments with typical humidity levels such as domestic bathrooms. With basic maintenance — cleaning with a soft cloth and avoiding harsh products — the finish stays in good condition for a long time.

What colour temperature does it have and how does it affect the bathroom atmosphere?

The wall light emits light at 2700K, which is a warm tone. In the bathroom, this means the space looks comfortable and without the cold effect of whiter lights. It is a suitable temperature both for starting the day and for a moment of relaxation at night.
