Overview

CONFETTI is a lamp from the collection designed by Nutcreatives for FARO, created for those who seek interior lighting with its own character. It works as a wall sconce, with a design that makes the shade the central element of the composition. The bulb is left visible, naturally integrated into the whole, making it look like an aesthetic choice rather than an oversight.

What sets this lamp apart from other similar options is the material of its shade: recycled plastic made from bottle caps. Production takes place in Valencia, ensuring a local and controlled process. For those renovating their home who want every choice to make sense beyond its visual appearance, this is a coherent option.

FARO has spent decades developing luminaires with design criteria and attention to detail. This collection reflects that approach: pieces that work well in the space and have a story behind them.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall sconce, a standard recessed junction box is required. The fixture mounts directly to the surface, with no additional structures. Before starting the installation, the power supply must be switched off at the main panel. If you have no experience with electrical installations, the safest option is to hire an electrician. The lamp accepts voltages between 100 V and 240 V, making it compatible with the standard electrical grid in Spain and most of the world.

The recycled plastic shade can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive products. The matte black aluminium body may accumulate dust over time; a dry cloth is all that is needed to keep it in good condition. Do not install in areas with direct moisture or outdoors. Although the lamp has a robust design, it is intended exclusively for indoor use.

Design and use

The CONFETTI collection starts from a simple idea: that the shade should not be a secondary accessory, but the element that defines the lamp's presence in the space. The result is a wall sconce in which the matte black aluminium body acts as a discreet support, while the circular shade with a 30 cm diameter takes centre stage. The E27 bulb is intentionally exposed, as part of the whole.

The matte black finish of the body allows the lamp to integrate easily into walls of different colours and textures. It works well against white, grey, dark green, or even rough-textured surfaces. It does not impose a specific style, but adapts to the context in which it is placed. It can have a more modern look in a hallway with clean finishes, or a warmer presence in a living room with wooden furniture.

In the kitchen, this wall sconce can be used to complement general lighting, especially in work areas or above countertops where an additional light source is needed. In the dining room, it works well on side walls, providing indirect light that softens the atmosphere without causing glare. In the bedroom, it can be placed on both sides of the bed as an alternative to bedside lamps, freeing up surface space and keeping the wall tidy.

In the living room, one or two units on the same wall create a balanced composition. The collection is designed precisely for this: to install several pieces forming groups, what FARO calls "islands" on the wall. They do not need to be rigidly aligned. Distributed at different heights or in an asymmetric arrangement, they generate a decorative effect that gives personality to the space without the need for other elements.

The bathroom is another environment where this wall sconce fits well, as long as it is installed in areas away from direct contact with water. Above the mirror or on the opposite wall, the light it projects is diffuse and balanced. In modern or minimalist bathrooms, the contrast between the light-coloured shade and the matte black body is particularly effective.

Hallways are often the most neglected spaces in a renovation, but with two or three sconces distributed along the wall, they can be transformed into areas with their own identity. The 30 cm diameter size is sufficient to create a presence without being excessive in narrow spaces. The light emitted by an LED bulb of up to 15 W through this shade is enough to illuminate passage without the need for additional light sources.

The choice of material is part of the design. The recycled plastic from bottle caps is not simply an environmental decision: it produces a texture and appearance that no conventional plastic reproduces in the same way. Each piece retains something of that origin, giving the lamp a slightly artisanal presence within a very modern format.

Questions and answers

Can this wall sconce also be installed on the ceiling as a ceiling light?

Yes. Although this product sheet presents it with wall mounting, the CONFETTI collection is designed to be installed both as a wall sconce and on the ceiling as a ceiling light. The same piece works in both positions.

Is the E27 LED bulb included with the lamp?

No, the bulb is not included. The lamp accepts an E27 socket with a maximum power of 15 W. It is compatible with standard LED bulbs of that socket type, which are easily available at any lighting store.

Is the matte black aluminium body resistant to scratches from everyday use?

Aluminium with a matte black finish is a durable material, but like any matte finish, it may show marks if rubbed with hard objects. To clean it, a soft dry cloth is all that is needed. Avoid using abrasive sponges or harsh cleaning products that could damage the surface.
