Overview

The SAMBA lamp by Faro Lab is a table lamp designed for interior spaces where detail matters. Its golden yellow trimmed shade contrasts with the matte white body, creating a combination that integrates well in a living room, bedroom, or work corner alike. It is not a piece that goes unnoticed, but it does not compete with the rest of the furniture either — it simply accompanies it.

The SAMBA collection is designed for those looking for a bedside lamp with its own personality, or a desk lamp that does not look like it belongs in an office. It also fits well in hospitality projects: hotels, tourist apartments, reception spaces where a warm atmosphere is sought without resorting to generic solutions.

FARO is a reference brand in interior lighting, with years of experience developing products that combine careful design with durable materials. The SAMBA lamp is part of that approach — manufactured in steel with a matte white finish and yellow shade, designed to last and maintain its presence over time.

Installation and specifications

This table lamp does not require fixed installation on a wall or ceiling. Simply place it on a stable surface, connect the cable to a standard outlet, and choose the appropriate E27 socket LED bulb with a maximum power of 15 W. Since the bulb is not included, you can choose the color temperature that best suits the atmosphere you want to create — warm light for the bedside table, or more neutral for the desk.

To clean the lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents on the matte white finished steel body. The golden colored shade requires the same care — a soft cloth without rubbing hard is sufficient to keep it in good condition. Do not handle the bulb while the lamp is on or immediately after turning it off.

Design and use

The SAMBA lamp starts from a matte white finished steel structure. It is a clean body, without unnecessary ornamentation, which serves as a firm base for a golden yellow trimmed shade. That combination — white and yellow — works because it does not seek to be striking at all costs, but coherent. It is the type of piece that fits in a modern bedroom, on a side table in a living room, or in a reading corner without needing to rearrange the rest of the space.

With a height of 360 mm and a base of 215 x 215 mm, the table lamp has a proportionate size. It does not take up too much space on a bedside table, and it does not get lost on a wide shelf either. Its weight of 1.67 kg gives it sufficient stability so it does not move easily.

The golden yellow shade plays an important role in the visual result. It filters the light in a way that is reminiscent of more classic lamps, but in a contemporary format. In a room with neutral tones, it adds warmth without saturating. In a living room with more color, it integrates as one more element of the whole without standing out excessively. For a bedside table, that softened light is especially pleasant — neither too intense nor too cold.

The use of this lamp in hospitality projects makes sense precisely because of its balance. In a hotel room or apartment, a good desk lamp or bedside lamp communicates attention to detail without the need for explanation. The SAMBA fulfills that role discreetly. Its design is not strikingly Nordic nor markedly vintage, although it can coexist well with interiors that embrace either of those styles. It has enough neutrality to adapt and enough personality to contribute something.

The steel body guarantees durability that ceramic, for example, does not always offer in pieces for everyday use. Ceramic has its appeal, but a steel lamp handles the small bumps that occur on a bedside table or an active desk better. Here, steel is not just a structural choice — it is also a practical one.

Compatibility with voltages between 100V and 240V makes this table lamp useful for those who travel or want to use the same model in different countries. That, combined with the standard E27 socket, makes it easy to find a compatible LED bulb anywhere.

In a dining room, placed on a side piece of furniture or sideboard, it can function as ambient light while the main lighting does the heavy work. On a desk, it provides a directed light point that does not strain the eyes. In the living room, it serves as a complement to other light sources, creating more intimate areas within a large space.

Questions and answers

Does the SAMBA lamp include the E27 LED bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The bulb is not included. You need to purchase an E27 socket bulb with a maximum power of 15 W. You can choose the color temperature according to the atmosphere you prefer — warm for rest areas, more neutral for a desk or reading.

Does the 100V–240V voltage mean I can use this lamp in any country without an adapter?

Yes. The compatible voltage range covers both American standards (100V–127V) and European standards (220V–240V), so the lamp works directly in most countries without the need for a transformer, as long as you use an appropriate plug.

Is the matte white finished steel body resistant to scratches from daily use?

Steel is a robust material for indoor use. The matte white finish may show marks over time if cleaned with abrasive products, which is why it is recommended to use only a soft, dry cloth for regular maintenance.
