Overview

The FARO DOME S lamp is a table lamp designed for those looking for a warm, controlled light source in the living room, bedroom, or workspace. It works well on a bedside table, a desk, or a side table in the dining room. Its compact size and clean silhouette allow it to fit effortlessly in corners where direct light is needed without taking up too much space.

The satin black steel body gives it a clear presence without feeling overdone. The diffuser shade distributes light softly, and being dimmable allows you to adjust the intensity according to the time of day or the activity. It is not a lamp that draws attention to itself, but it does organize the room's atmosphere with discretion.

FARO is a brand with a long track record in interior lighting. Their products combine design criteria with attention to materials and the behavior of light in domestic spaces.

Installation and specifications

Before placing the lamp, make sure the surface it will rest on is stable and flat. As a table lamp, it requires no tools or fixed electrical installation. Simply plug the cable into a standard power outlet. Make sure to use an E27 LED bulb compatible with the maximum wattage indicated, as the bulb is not included in the package.

To clean the metal body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the satin black finish. Before cleaning the diffuser shade, always disconnect the lamp from the power supply. Do not handle the bulb while the lamp is on or when the material is hot.

Design and use

The DOME S reinterprets classic forms through a modern logic. Its spherical silhouette and satin black steel body are reminiscent of the harbor lamps that have been present in studios and workspaces for decades, but refined of any ornamental element. The result is a table lamp that needs no justification: it occupies its place naturally.

The satin black finish of the body neither reflects nor absorbs excessively. It creates a calm visual effect that pairs well with light wood surfaces, matte ceramics, or metal. On a bedside table, it provides a solid counterpoint to bedding in soft tones. On a desk, it defines the work area without interfering with what surrounds it. In the dining room, on a side table or console, it adds a touch of character without competing with the other elements.

The diffuser shade serves a clear purpose: it prevents direct glare and distributes light evenly toward the area of use. It does not illuminate the entire room, but rather creates a concentrated and pleasant cone of light. This makes it especially useful for reading, working, or simply lowering the ambient intensity at night. The dimming function allows for that fine adjustment that makes the difference between a room that feels right and one that is simply lit.

The base is compact and stable. With a total diameter of 233 mm and a height of 313 mm, it takes up no more space than necessary. It fits comfortably on a small table without covering other objects, and its weight of 0.8 kg ensures it stays in place without needing to be anchored.

The E27 socket is one of the most common in the domestic market. Finding a compatible LED bulb is no difficulty at all, and the voltage range between 100V and 240V allows it to be used in any standard electrical installation without an adapter.

In professional or contract settings, such as hotel rooms, offices, or meeting rooms with a warm atmosphere, the DOME S maintains the same behavior. Its neutral and modern aesthetic does not depend on a specific decor, which facilitates its integration into projects with different styles. It pairs equally well with Nordic interiors as with more industrial or refined vintage-line ones.

For those looking for a living room lamp that is neither golden nor flashy, but simply functional and well-executed, this piece answers exactly that need. And for those looking for an indirect lighting option in the bedroom without installing anything on the wall or ceiling, the DOME S offers that solution in a simple way.

Questions and answers

Does the DOME S lamp include the E27 LED bulb in the package?

No. The lamp is delivered without a bulb. It is necessary to separately purchase an E27 LED socket bulb with a maximum wattage of 15 W.

Is the dimming function compatible with any existing dimmer switch, or does it require a specific bulb?

The dimming function depends on both the lamp and the bulb installed. For the dimmer to work correctly, it is necessary to use an LED bulb compatible with a dimmer. Check compatibility in the bulb's specifications before purchasing it.

Does the 100V–240V voltage range allow this lamp to be used in countries with different electrical standards?

Yes. The voltage range covers both 110V and 220–240V standards, so the lamp can be used in most countries without a transformer, as long as the plug type is compatible with the local outlet.
