Overview

The CONGA lamp by FARO is a table lamp designed for interior spaces where light needs to be functional while at the same time going unnoticed in the best sense: present, illuminating, unobtrusive. With its matte white finish and white fabric shade, it fits naturally in bedrooms, living rooms, and guest rooms. It also works well in hospitality projects where a carefully considered atmosphere is sought without elements that draw too much attention.

The steel body gives it a solid base. The fabric shade softens the light and distributes it pleasantly, without excessive bright spots. It does not include a bulb, which allows you to choose the type of LED that best suits each space. Compatible with voltages between 100 V and 240 V, it can be used in different countries without additional adapters.

FARO is a lighting brand with a track record in interior design. The CONGA collection is part of its Faro Lab line, focused on modern solutions with durable materials and restrained aesthetics.

Installation and specifications

Installing this lamp requires no ceiling or wall mounting. As a table lamp, simply place it on the chosen surface and connect it to the power supply. Before inserting the bulb, make sure the cable is unplugged. Choose an E27 LED bulb with a maximum power of 15 W. Place the lamp on a stable surface, away from edges where it could fall. The cable should be kept tidy and without tension.

To clean the steel body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte white finish. The fabric shade can be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth. Do not wet the fabric directly or use cleaning products on it. Do not leave the lamp switched on without a bulb installed.

Design and use

The CONGA is a table lamp that addresses a very specific need: providing light at a particular point in the space without taking up too much room or imposing an overly defined style. With a height of 485 mm and a square base of 250 mm by 250 mm, it has a balanced proportion that allows it to adapt to a bedside table, a desk, or a hallway console alike.

The body is made of steel with a matte white finish. It is a material that does not deform over time and maintains its color well without yellowing or losing presence. Matte white, in particular, is a finish that works well with almost any color palette: with light woods, earthy tones, grays, or pure white. It does not compete with its surroundings — it complements them.

The white fabric shade is the element that defines the character of this lamp. Unlike a glass shade or a rigid diffuser, the fabric filters light in a warmer, more enveloping way. When switched on, the shade glows softly and creates a calm atmosphere, without direct light spots that cause discomfort. This makes it especially suitable for bedrooms, where bedside lighting should not be intense or harsh.

In a living room, it can be placed on a side table next to the sofa as a secondary light source that complements the general lighting. It also works well on a desk where directed light is needed without glare. In hospitality spaces, such as hotel rooms or holiday apartments, this type of lamp adds a domestic touch that improves the perception of the space without requiring fixed installation.

The base accepts an E27 LED bulb of up to 15 W. Since no bulb is included, you are free to choose the color temperature you prefer: warmer light for relaxation environments or neutral light for workspaces. Compatibility with voltages from 100 V to 240 V is a useful detail if you use the lamp in different locations or if you need to replace a unit in an international project.

The weight of 1.67 kg gives it stability on the surface without being excessively heavy. It does not move easily, but it is also not difficult to reposition when you reorganize the space. It is a modern lamp in the most literal sense: functional, without unnecessary ornamentation, with a form that does not go out of style quickly. It pairs well with Nordic-style interiors, more classic settings, and minimalist proposals where another element in the room takes center stage.

Questions and answers

Does the CONGA lamp include an E27 LED bulb at the time of purchase?

No. The lamp does not include a bulb. You need to purchase an E27 LED screw cap bulb separately, with a maximum power of 15 W.

How much space does the base of this lamp take up on the bedside table or desk?

The base occupies a surface of 250 mm in length by 250 mm in depth. It is a compact footprint that leaves enough space on a standard bedside table or in a corner of the desk.

Can this table lamp be used in a hotel room or rental apartment?

Yes. The CONGA collection is also designed for hospitality projects. As it requires no fixed installation and is compatible with voltages between 100 V and 240 V, it adapts well to different contexts without the need for construction work or electrical modifications.
