Overview

VENICE is a table lamp that fits well in a living room, a bedroom, or next to a nightstand. Its design does not follow a specific trend, which makes it equally suitable for a modern space as for a more classic one. If you are looking for a lamp for a desk or to add light to a corner of the dining room, this piece fulfills that function well without requiring major adjustments.

What sets VENICE apart from the rest is its ceramic shade, handcrafted in a workshop in Barcelona. Each unit has real work behind it: hands, time, and knowledge of the craft. The result is a lamp that does not look mass-produced, even though it works perfectly in any home.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in interior lighting. Its products combine quality materials with an aesthetic that does not go out of date. VENICE is part of that line: pieces designed to last and to make the space where they stand look good.

Installation and specifications

No special tools are needed to set up this lamp. As a table lamp, you simply need to place it on a stable surface, plug the cable into a standard power outlet, and fit an E27 LED bulb, which is not included. Before inserting the bulb, make sure the lamp is unplugged. Check that the bulb wattage does not exceed the 15 W indicated by the manufacturer.

To clean the ceramic shade, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The satin black steel body is cleaned in the same way. Do not submerge any part of the lamp in water. Always unplug the lamp before cleaning it.

Design and use

The VENICE lamp has a clear presence without being excessive. Its striped ceramic shade, handmade in Barcelona, is the element that defines the character of this piece. The ceramic provides a texture and visual weight that cannot be found in shades made from synthetic materials. When light passes through the shade, the effect obtained is soft and enveloping, without bright spots that cause discomfort.

The body is made of steel with a satin black finish. It is a combination that works well with light wood furniture, white surfaces, or environments where neutral tones predominate. The lamp can be placed on a nightstand to provide comfortable reading light, or on a desk as the main source of illumination during work. It also looks good in a dining room on a console table or sideboard, adding indirect light without excessive prominence.

In the living room, on a side table or on a shelf, it acts as a warm light point that complements the general lighting. It does not need to be accompanied by anything special: it works on its own. Its height of 575 mm gives it enough presence not to get lost among other objects, but without taking up too much space in depth.

The design by Adolfo Abejón bets on what does not go out of fashion. It is not a markedly vintage lamp, nor one of extreme industrial aesthetic. It has something of Nordic design in the sobriety of its forms, but the handcrafted ceramic gives it a Mediterranean character that makes it different. It is a piece that coexists well with different styles without the result seeming forced.

VENICE is available in several finishes: black, pink, white, and cobalt blue. This allows you to choose according to the tone of the space or the furniture. A white version can fit into bright, minimalist environments. Cobalt blue works as a color accent in neutral spaces. Black, as in this version, is more versatile and adapts to almost any setting.

The lamp uses an E27 LED bulb, a very common format that is easy to find. Compatibility with voltages between 100V and 240V means it can be used in different countries without adapters. Although the bulb is not included, choosing a good-quality LED one greatly extends the useful life of the whole and keeps consumption low.

The weight of 1.67 kg makes it stable on a nightstand or flat surface. It does not move easily, which is useful if it is placed in areas of passage or in rooms with children. The steel base provides firmness without making the lamp difficult to move when it needs to be repositioned.

Overall, VENICE is a lamp that adds without taking away. It provides light where it is needed, has a careful finish, and requires no special maintenance. It is the kind of piece that, once placed, stops drawing attention to itself and simply makes the space look better.

Questions and answers

Is the ceramic shade the same in all units, or can there be variations between one lamp and another?

Since it is handcrafted in a workshop in Barcelona, small differences between units may exist. This is part of the handmade production process and is not considered a defect.

Is the lamp compatible with bulbs from any brand, or only with a specific type?

It accepts any bulb with an E27 LED base of up to 15 W. It is not limited to a specific brand. The bulb is not included in the order.

Is the satin black finish on the steel body resistant to scratches from everyday use on a nightstand?

The satin black finish on the steel is durable for normal domestic use. It is recommended to avoid sharp objects coming into direct contact with the surface and to clean it with a soft cloth to keep it in good condition.
