Overview

The SAMBA lamp by Faro is a table lamp designed for interior spaces where detail matters. Its steel structure with a matte white finish and ribbon-shaded screen in a beige tone fits well in bedrooms, living rooms, and reading areas. It also works as a bedside lamp, where the warm, diffused light of a well-chosen lamp completely transforms the atmosphere.

It is a piece that does not seek to draw attention, but does add character. The combination of white and beige is neutral, making it easy to integrate into modern interiors without clashing with the rest of the furniture. Faro is a Spanish brand with a track record in interior and exterior lighting, and its Faro Lab line brings together more carefully designed projects, conceived for those looking for something beyond the standard.

Installation and specifications

Installing this table lamp requires no ceiling or wall fitting. Simply place the base on a stable surface — a bedside table, a desk, or a dresser — and plug the cable into a standard power outlet. Before inserting the bulb, make sure the lamp is unplugged. Use an E27 LED bulb with a maximum power of 15 W, which is not included in the packaging.

To clean the steel body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products that may damage the matte white finish. The ribbon-shaded beige screen should be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth; do not expose it to direct moisture. Do not cover the shade with materials that may retain heat near the bulb.

Design and use

The SAMBA lamp has a balanced proportion: 360 mm in height and a base of 215 x 215 mm. It is neither large nor small — it fits comfortably on a bedside table without taking up too much space, and on a desk it is not excessive either. The weight of 1.67 kg provides stability without making the lamp difficult to move if you rearrange the room.

The body is made of steel in matte white, a finish that does not reflect light aggressively and that over time does not show fingerprints as easily as glossy finishes. The ribbon-shaded beige screen filters light gently, creating a warm atmosphere without the lamp feeling dark. It is the kind of light that is appreciated in a room where you read before sleeping or where you work for hours.

The E27 socket is the most common on the European market, making it easy to find the right bulb without any hassle. Being a lamp designed for LED, energy consumption remains low and the bulb temperature does not rise excessively, which matters when the shade is nearby.

In the living room, a lamp of this type can be placed on a console or side table to create a secondary light source that complements the general lighting. It does not aim to illuminate the entire room, but rather to add warmth to a corner. In a dining room, on a sideboard or auxiliary furniture, it provides a more intimate atmosphere when the main light is switched off or dimmed. In the bedroom it works particularly well as a bedside lamp, where the warm, diffused light invites rest without being harsh on the eyes.

The combination of matte white and beige connects well with modern, Nordic, or minimalist interior aesthetics. It can also be integrated into warmer settings with natural woods or textiles in earthy tones, where the beige of the shade reinforces that colour palette. It has no golden or metallic character, but remains within a neutral range that offers great versatility.

The SAMBA collection is also presented as a valid option for hospitality projects — hotels, holiday apartments, coworking spaces with rest areas. In those contexts, the sobriety of the design and the durability of the steel are practical arguments. A bedside lamp that does not draw too much attention, that works well, and that does not require frequent maintenance is exactly what is sought in those environments.

For those renovating a bedroom or looking for desk lighting, this luminaire meets that need without feeling overdone. It is a piece that fits in, that provides light where it is needed, and that requires no further justification than that.

Questions and answers

Does the lamp include an E27 LED bulb in the packaging?

No, the bulb is not included. The lamp accepts an E27 socket with a maximum power of 15 W. As it is a very widespread format, compatible LED bulbs are easy to find in any lighting shop or large retail store.

Does the 100 V–240 V voltage allow this lamp to be used outside Spain?

Yes. The voltage range covers both the European power grid (230 V) and that of countries with different standards, so the lamp can be used without an adapter in most countries in the world.

Is the 215 x 215 mm base stable enough for a narrow bedside table?

The square base measuring 215 mm per side and the weight of 1.67 kg provide reasonable stability on flat surfaces. For bedside tables with a small tabletop, it is advisable to check that the base rests completely on the surface and does not overhang the edge.
