Overview

The SAMBA lamp by FARO is a table luminaire designed for indoor environments where the balance between aesthetics and functionality makes a difference. It is placed on a nightstand, a desk, or an auxiliary surface in the living room, accompanying spaces where light needs to be precise without being intrusive. Its ribbon-trimmed beige shade and matte black steel base make it a piece that does not compete with its surroundings, but complements them.

It is designed for bedrooms and living rooms, and fits well in hospitality projects: hotels, rental apartments, or shared-use spaces where a coherent and lasting image is sought. The combination of materials — steel in the body, beige shade — gives it a calm yet defined visual presence.

FARO is a Spanish company with years of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Under its FARO Lab design line, it develops collections that start from a clear idea and carry it through to the detail. SAMBA is part of that approach: a lamp that makes no visual noise, but is noticed when it is on.

Installation and specifications

Installing this table lamp requires no intervention in the ceiling or walls. Simply place it on a stable surface — a nightstand, a desk, or a shelf — and plug it into a standard power outlet. The universal voltage (100V–240V) allows it to be used in any country without additional adapters. Before inserting the bulb, make sure the lamp is unplugged. The E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately; it is recommended not to exceed the indicated maximum power of 15 W.

To clean the matte black steel base, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the finish. The ribbon-trimmed beige shade can be cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth, using gentle movements to avoid deforming the fabric. Do not wet the lamp directly or expose it to high-humidity environments. Always unplug the lamp before cleaning it or changing the bulb.

Design and use

The SAMBA collection starts from a well-resolved proportion: a compact matte black steel base from which a structure rises to support a ribbon-trimmed beige fabric shade. The result is a table lamp with enough presence to stand out, but without overwhelming the space. The height of 485 mm makes it a piece that works well on a standard nightstand, providing the light needed for reading or creating a relaxed atmosphere without taking up too much surface space.

The steel body gives the structure solidity. This is not a lamp that moves easily or feels fragile to the touch. The matte black finish avoids reflections and fits into modern interiors, but also into more sober or industrial environments where non-glossy metal finds its natural place. The beige shade balances the hardness of the black with a warm tone that softens the light and distributes it pleasantly in the surroundings.

In a bedroom, this lamp works on the nightstand as a primary or complementary light source. The size is suitable for flanking a double bed alongside another identical unit, or for use alone in smaller spaces. In a living room, it can be positioned on a side table or in a corner with an armchair, creating a differentiated lighting zone. In a dining room, if there is a lateral support surface, it can serve as ambient lighting that complements the central light.

The combination of black and beige is one of the most versatile in interior decoration. It works with light wood or walnut furniture, with earth-toned upholstery, with white or muted-color walls. It does not clash with other materials present in the space: it can coexist without issue with ceramic pieces, natural fabrics, or metal elements in other finishes. For those looking for a modern lamp without it being eye-catching, this combination is a safe choice.

In hospitality projects, the SAMBA lamp responds well to the need for visual homogeneity. Repeated across several rooms of a hotel or apartment, it maintains a coherent identity without becoming a decorative element that quickly goes out of style. The matte black finish of the body holds up well to everyday use and does not show fingerprints easily. The beige shade adds warmth to environments that might otherwise feel too cold or neutral.

The E27 LED bulb-compatible base allows the color temperature to be chosen according to use: warmer light for a restful atmosphere in a bedroom or dining room, more neutral light for a desk or work area. This flexibility is one of the practical strengths of the lamp, as it adapts its lighting behavior to the context without altering its external appearance.

Questions and answers

Does the SAMBA lamp include the E27 LED bulb?

No, the bulb is not included. The lamp is compatible with an E27 LED base bulb, and the recommended maximum power is 15 W. You can choose the color temperature that best suits the environment where you plan to place it.

Can this table lamp be used in countries with different voltages?

Yes. The SAMBA lamp operates in a voltage range of 100V to 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical grid of most countries without the need for adapters.

How much space does it take up on the surface of a nightstand?

The lamp base has dimensions of 250 x 250 mm, which is equivalent to a 25 cm square. It is a manageable size for a standard nightstand, leaving enough space for other everyday objects.
