Overview

The ARTIS lamp by FARO is a table luminaire designed for those looking for a specific light source in a room without sacrificing style. It sits on a bedside table, a desk, or a living room console, and from there it organizes the space with a clean and discreet presence.

The design is by Alex & Manel Lluscà, a team that has worked with FARO for years on pieces with a timeless line. The result is a lamp that does not follow seasonal trends: it fits equally well in a renovated bedroom, a living room with classic furniture, or even a hotel room. The bronze finish gives it a warm golden touch that integrates well with dark woods, natural textiles, and matte surfaces.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior lighting. Its products are distributed throughout Europe and are found in both residential and hospitality projects. The ARTIS family is one of its references in table lighting for domestic and contract use.

Installation and specifications

No special tools or ceiling or wall work are needed to install this lamp. Simply place it on a stable surface, connect the cable to a standard outlet, and fit the appropriate E27 LED bulb. The accepted voltage is 100V to 240V, making it compatible with the Spanish electrical network without an adapter. The bulb is not included, so it is worth having one ready before placing the lamp.

To clean the steel surface with a bronze finish, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. It is not recommended to use abrasive products or solvents that could alter the golden finish. The lamp should not be placed in areas with high humidity, as it is an interior luminaire without special protection against moisture. Always disconnect from the outlet before changing the bulb.

Design and use

The ARTIS lamp stands 550 mm tall with a compact base of 210 x 180 mm. Those proportions make it suitable for a standard-sized bedside table, where it provides enough light for reading without taking up too much space. It also works well on a small desk when a warm, stable light point is needed, different from that of an articulated arm flex lamp.

The body is steel with a bronze finish. That dark golden tone has a slightly vintage feel without being overly ornate. It does not imitate copper or shiny brass, but rather offers a more muted texture that ages well over time and requires no special maintenance. In interiors with earthy, beige, or grey tones, the golden lamp blends in without drawing too much attention. In more neutral or white spaces, it acts as a subtle contrast element.

The ARTIS family is designed to be versatile. The same lamp can be on the bedside table of a hotel room one day and in the living room of a renovated apartment the next. This adaptability comes from the timeless design chosen by Alex & Manel Lluscà: without details too specific to any particular era or style, without ceramics, glass, wicker, or rattan. Just steel and form. This makes it compatible with modern interiors, more Nordic proposals, or even classically styled environments.

In the bedroom, the ARTIS table lamp works as a reading light on the bedside table. The height of 550 mm allows the light source to sit at a comfortable distance from the eye when seated or lying down. In the living room, it can be placed on a side table or console, as a complement to general lighting. In that context, rather than illuminating the entire room, it defines an area: the reading corner, the end of the sofa, the space next to an armchair.

For a work desk, ARTIS offers a style far removed from the classic flex lamp or articulated arm lamps. It is an option for those who prefer a fixed light and a more decorative presence in their work area. That said, the position of the light is fixed, so it is worth thinking carefully about where to place it before using it as a primary desk light.

Compatibility with E27 LED bulbs allows you to choose the color temperature that best suits each space. A warm LED accentuates the bronze tone of the body and creates a more intimate atmosphere. A neutral or cool LED provides better visual performance for reading or working. The maximum accepted power is 15 W, sufficient for a standard domestic LED bulb.

The design of the ARTIS family also takes hospitality use into account. The solidity of the steel and the sobriety of the finish make it suitable for hotel rooms, reception areas, or rest areas where a discreet and long-lasting ambient light is sought.

Questions and answers

Is the ARTIS lamp compatible with bulbs of other bases, or does it only accept E27 socket?

It only accepts bulbs with an E27 socket. It is not compatible with other base types such as E14 or GU10. When choosing the LED bulb, make sure it is the right size so as not to interfere with the shade.

Can the bronze finish deteriorate with normal use?

The body is steel with a factory-applied bronze finish. With normal use and periodic cleaning with a dry cloth, the golden finish remains in good condition. Aggressive chemical products or prolonged humidity can affect it, so it is recommended to avoid use in damp areas.

How much does the lamp weigh and is it stable on a standard bedside table?

The net weight is 2.05 kg and the base measures 210 x 180 mm. These dimensions provide a sufficiently wide base to remain stable on a bedside table or a living room side table without the need for any additional anchoring.
