Overview

The GABO reading wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for those who need focused, comfortable light in specific spaces. It works very well next to the bed in a bedroom, in a hallway with little natural light, or in any indoor corner where reading or working is done frequently. Its 4W LED technology provides warm illumination at 2700K that is easy on the eyes.

What sets this wall light apart is the combination of an adjustable reader with an integrated USB port. This way, at the same point on the wall where the lamp is located, you can charge your phone or another device without needing an additional outlet. The bronze finish gives it a defined character without feeling overdone.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Its products are designed with attention to both aesthetic and functional detail, and the GABO model is a good example of that approach.

Installation and specifications

For installation, an electrical outlet on the wall is required, or the wiring must be prepared before fixing the wall light. The lamp can be installed on the surface or recessed, depending on the desired finish. For recessed installation, the appropriate recess in the wall must be planned before mounting. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially in the recessed case, to ensure a clean and safe result.

To clean the body, a soft, slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the bronze finish. Do not handle the interior of the lamp or attempt to replace the light source yourself, as it is integrated. Always disconnect the power before cleaning or adjusting the position of the reader.

Design and use

The GABO wall light by FARO has a discreet but well-resolved presence on the wall. The body combines steel and aluminium, giving it solidity without adding unnecessary weight. The bronze finish is not flashy, but it does not go unnoticed either: it has that warm quality that works well with wood, neutral tones, and matte surfaces that are common in contemporary interiors.

The wall light's design incorporates a frame with a central cradle-shaped frieze that wraps around and holds the reader. That detail gives it a recognisable and orderly form without resorting to complicated geometry. It is a lamp that integrates well in both environments with a more classic style and interiors with clean, modern lines.

The included LED technology operates at 2700K, a warm colour temperature that resembles traditional incandescent light. This makes it particularly suitable for the bedroom, where overly cool lighting can make it harder to rest. It also works well in a hallway or entrance, where a welcoming rather than intense light is desired.

One of the most practical features of this wall light is the possibility of installing it recessed into the wall. The recessed version allows the body to be integrated into the wall surface without protruding visually, which is especially useful in small spaces or in renovations where a very clean finish is desired. In passageways such as a staircase or narrow hallway, the recessed solution prevents the lamp from obstructing traffic and keeps the wall free of elements that could be accidentally knocked.

Surface installation, on the other hand, is simpler to carry out and requires no prior work. In this case, the wall light projects slightly from the wall, which can also be used as a conscious decorative element, especially when combined with other bronze finishes in the same space.

The integrated USB port is a detail that makes a difference in everyday use. In a bedroom, being able to charge a phone from the same reading lamp avoids loose cables on the bedside table. In a hallway or entrance, it can be useful for charging devices in transit without looking for a free outlet.

The 4W illumination is sufficient for comfortable reading without disturbing anyone sharing the room. The light source is included and already integrated into the wall light, so there is no need to worry about choosing or installing a separate bulb.

The low weight of the unit, just 0.42 kg, makes it easy to fix to any type of wall without the need for special anchors. The compact dimensions — 185 mm high, 80 mm long, and 69 mm deep — make it a lamp that is easy to position even on walls with little available space.

In a bathroom, this type of wall light can also have a place in specific areas outside the wet zone, where directed light is needed without resorting to general ceiling lighting.

Questions and answers

Can the GABO wall light be installed both on the surface and recessed into the wall?

Yes, this wall light supports both mounting options. Recessed installation requires preparing the recess in the wall before mounting, while surface installation is more straightforward and requires no prior work. In both cases, it is recommended that the electrical connection be made by a professional.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The HIGH POWER LED light source is already included in the wall light. No additional bulb needs to be purchased. The lamp is ready to install and use from the very first moment.

Does the USB port on the GABO wall light work for charging any device?

The USB port is designed to charge commonly used devices such as mobile phones or tablets. To find out the exact charging power and compatibility with specific devices, please consult the manufacturer's full technical data sheet or contact our customer service.
