Overview

LOX is a recessed ceiling lamp by FARO Barcelona, designed to integrate without drawing attention. Its round format and white finish allow it to fit into almost any space without adding visual noise. It is a lamp designed primarily for commercial environments, although its modern and discreet design makes it perfectly suitable for residential projects where a clean and orderly result is desired.

If you are renovating the lighting in a bedroom, dining room, or any area where the ceiling needs well-organized and evenly distributed lights, this lamp offers exactly that: presence without prominence. FARO Barcelona has spent decades developing luminaires with solid design criteria. Their products combine functional materials with forms designed to last and adapt to different contexts.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation: before starting assembly, cut the power supply at the distribution board. As a recessed ceiling lamp, you will need to make a hole in the false ceiling or panel where it will be installed. The cut diameter must match the 60 mm indicated in the specifications. Check that the space available above the fixture is sufficient to house the body of the luminaire, which measures 70 mm in height. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified professional. Verify that the installation voltage is compatible with the equipment's 36V before connecting.

Use and maintenance: clean the surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the white finish of the aluminum and PC body. Do not handle the lamp with the power connected. As the light source is included and integrated, do not attempt to replace it on your own.

Design and use

The LOX recessed downlight by FARO Barcelona is a compact format lamp that installs directly into the ceiling, leaving the surface practically clean. Its body is made of aluminium with PC parts, ensuring a structure that is both lightweight and resistant. The white finish gives it a neutral appearance that effortlessly adapts to Nordic, minimalist or contemporary interiors.

The light source is a 9W COB LED at 3000K, a warm colour temperature that creates a pleasant atmosphere close to traditional incandescent light. This type of lighting is especially useful in bedrooms, where harsh light is uncomfortable, or in dining rooms, where a cosier atmosphere is sought during meals. It also works well in kitchens when combined with several light points distributed across the ceiling to cover the work surface evenly.

Being a recessed lamp, it visually disappears from the space. It takes up no height, does not interrupt the ceiling in any visible way, and becomes part of it. This is especially useful in rooms with low ceilings, where a pendant lamp would reduce the visual sense of space. In these cases, the recessed lamp not only provides light, but also helps maintain the feeling of openness.

In commercial environments, the LOX lamp fits perfectly in store shelving aisles, display areas, bar counters or service counters. Its modern design does not interfere with the visual identity of the space and allows lighting schemes to be created with multiple light points without any one standing out above the others. The result is uniform lighting with a restrained style.

The ability to combine several units of these lights on the same ceiling is one of their practical advantages. With an identical design and neutral white finish, the fixtures align visually without creating inconsistencies. This is especially useful when working with plaster or drywall ceilings where a homogeneous result is desired.

As for its relationship with other interior elements, the white body facilitates integration with frames, skirting boards, lacquered furniture or light-coloured walls. In a home-style bedroom or a living room with neutral tones, it goes completely unnoticed when switched off, and when switched on it provides warm, directional light without creating unwanted shadows.

The equipment weighs just 0.02 kg, which makes handling during installation easier and reduces the load on the false ceiling. Its compact size, with a diameter of 60 mm, allows it to be installed even in areas where available space is limited.

FARO Barcelona is a company with a long track record in the interior and exterior lighting sector. Their modern designs respond to functional criteria without sacrificing refined aesthetics, and the LOX is a good example of that balance: a lamp that does not try to stand out, but that performs its function well.

Questions and answers

Is the COB LED light source included in the LOX recessed downlight or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included in the product. It is not necessary to purchase it separately or make any adjustments before installation.

What cut-out diameter does the ceiling need to install the LOX recessed downlight?

The total diameter of the recessed downlight is 60 mm, so the hole in the ceiling must match that measurement for the fixture to fit correctly.

Is the 3000K colour temperature suitable for spaces where people work or need to concentrate?

3000K provides warm light, closer to traditional light than to the cold office light. It is suitable for environments where visual comfort is sought, such as bedrooms or dining rooms, and can work well in commercial areas with a controlled atmosphere, although for high-precision tasks a higher colour temperature may be preferable.
