Overview

This recessed luminaire from FARO fits well in spaces where clean lighting is sought without elements that draw attention. By being integrated into the ceiling, it does not visually interrupt the space — it simply becomes part of it. It is a lamp designed for those who want functional light without the fixture itself becoming the focal point of the ceiling.

The square design and matte black finish give it a discreet character that adapts to both modern interiors and more neutral environments. Being adjustable, it allows directing the light exactly where needed — a useful detail in the kitchen, dining room, or any corner where lighting needs to be concentrated on a specific point.

FARO is a firm with experience in lighting for the home and architectural spaces. Their products are designed to last and to integrate without complications into different types of environments, both in renovation projects and in one-off interior updates.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the lamp, it is necessary to prepare a square opening in the ceiling with the appropriate dimensions to house the body of the fixture. As it is a recessed lamp with ceiling mounting, it is recommended to have sufficient space in the false ceiling to accommodate the wiring. The connection must be made by a qualified electrician. Since the light source is not included, a compatible GU10 LED bulb must be purchased before commissioning. The accepted voltage is 100V to 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical network.

As an indoor lamp with IP20 rating, it is not suitable for areas with high humidity or for outdoor use. To clean the housing, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte black steel finish. Do not handle the bulb with unprotected hands to extend its service life.

Design and use

The body of this lamp is made of steel with a matte black finish that does not reflect light or visually attract attention. The absence of a frame means the fixture integrates directly into the ceiling surface, without decorative edges that reveal its presence. The result is a luminaire that disappears into the ceiling plane and lets the space speak for itself.

The square format of 82 x 82 mm is compact and functional. Unlike larger ceiling fixtures, this model occupies little visual space, making it especially suitable for ceilings where a tidy appearance is desired. Its height of only 55 mm allows it to be installed even in false ceilings with little depth available.

Adjustability is one of its most practical features. In the kitchen, for example, it can be directed towards the countertop or work area without the need to install an additional lamp. In a dining room, it allows focusing the beam on the table without relying on a pendant lamp. In a bedroom or bedrooms with side reading, it can be pointed towards the book or the headboard area with ease.

The understated style of this fixture makes it compatible with interiors of clean lines: concrete floors, white walls, dark wood furniture, or home environments inspired by Nordic or industrial aesthetics. Recessed lights of this type work well in combination with other light sources, whether a floor lamp in the living room or LED light strips under kitchen cabinets. They also allow creating zone lighting schemes, where each fixture serves a specific function.

In the dining room, a set of these fixtures distributed above the table elegantly replaces a bulky pendant lamp, keeping the space more open. In bedrooms, the ability to orient the lamp provides flexibility without the need for additional wall lights. In the kitchen, ceiling integration prevents dust and steam from affecting exposed decorative elements.

The modern design of this fixture also fits in home office or office environments, where modern lights that do not distract are sought. The matte black finish is one of the most versatile among dark tones: it does not age visually, does not show fingerprints easily, and maintains a clean style over time. The recessed ceiling fixtures and spotlights in this FARO range are designed to integrate into decoration projects where each element has its place without imposing itself.

Compatibility with GU10 LED bulbs allows choosing the colour temperature that best suits each room, whether warm light for more intimate atmospheres or cool light for work areas. Fixtures with GU10 sockets are also easy to maintain, as changing the bulb requires no tools.

Questions and answers

Can this lamp be installed in a bathroom or in an area with humidity?

No. This luminaire has a protection rating of IP20, which means it is not designed for humid environments or outdoor use. Its installation is indicated exclusively in dry indoor spaces.

Does the lamp include the GU10 LED bulb at the time of purchase?

No, the light source is not included. For the luminaire to work, it is necessary to purchase separately a compatible GU10 LED bulb with a maximum power of 8 W.

How much free space is needed in the false ceiling to install this recessed luminaire?

The body of the lamp has a height of 55 mm, so at least that amount of free space is needed above the ceiling plane to correctly accommodate the body and wiring.
