Overview

HYDE is a square recessed light from the brand FARO that integrates into the ceiling without drawing attention. Its compact format and matte white finish make it a practical option for those looking for a discreet lamp that does not break the ceiling line. It works well in spaces where a clean design is desired, without elements that protrude too much.

One of the features that sets it apart is its adjustable head. This allows the light to be directed toward the exact point needed, which is useful in a kitchen as well as in a dining room or bedroom. FARO is a brand with years of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting, and this model reflects its approach to functional solutions with a modern style.

Installation and specifications

To install this lamp in the ceiling, a cutout must be made in the false ceiling or in the panel where it will be recessed. The cutout must match the dimensions indicated by the manufacturer. Before starting the installation, it is essential to turn off the power at the electrical panel. As this is an adjustable lamp, it is advisable to plan the direction of illumination before fixing it permanently. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, the safest option is to hire an electrician.

To clean the surface, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte white finish should not be used. Given that it has IP20 protection, this lamp is intended exclusively for indoor use, in dry areas. It is not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens with high humidity, or outdoor use.

Design and use

The HYDE recessed light from FARO is designed for those who want a lamp that does its job without standing out too much. Its square steel body with a matte white finish blends naturally into the ceiling, something that is especially appreciated in spaces where visual order matters. There are no superfluous decorative elements, just a simple shape that fits well with modern or minimalist interior styles.

The modern design of this lamp makes it compatible with a wide variety of home environments. In a kitchen, for example, it can be directed toward the countertop to improve task lighting without the need to install additional lights. In a dining room, placing several HYDE recessed lights in a line above the table can be an alternative to the traditional pendant lamp, especially if the ceiling is low. The result is cleaner and visually lighter.

In bedrooms, this lamp fits well at headboards or in reading areas. Bedrooms with low ceilings benefit especially from recessed lights, as they do not reduce the visual height of the space. The adjustable head allows the light to be focused where needed, without having to rely on a fixed position. This gives room to adjust the lighting according to how the room is used at any given time.

It also works in hallways, offices, or any area where modern lights are desired without them dominating the overall look. In a home office, for example, directing the light precisely helps reduce shadows on the work surface. In interior commercial spaces, such as a bar counter or a small shop, modern recessed lights provide a professional finish without the need for complex installations.

From a lighting standpoint, HYDE accepts GU10 LED bulbs of up to 8 W. This type of light source is energy efficient and has a long lifespan. The bulb is not included, so it must be purchased separately, choosing the color temperature that best suits the desired atmosphere. For a dining room or a living room, warm tones are usually preferred. For a kitchen or a work area, neutral or cool light is more functional.

The reduced weight of the recessed light, just 150 grams, makes installation easier and places no structural demands. The steel body provides solidity without adding bulk. The matte white finish does not reflect dust as intensely as glossy finishes, making it easier to maintain over time.

If you plan to combine several units of the same model, the uniformity of the design allows for a balanced distribution without the ceiling looking overcrowded. The lights in this range work well both individually and in groups, depending on the size of the room. In larger spaces, distributing several modern recessed lights at regular intervals creates uniform and elegant lighting.
