Overview

The FARO round recessed lamp is a discreet solution for illuminating the ceiling without adding visual volume to the space. It integrates into the false ceiling cleanly, without the luminaire protruding or drawing more attention than necessary. It is an option designed for those who want efficient lighting and a tidy result, without elements that compete with the rest of the interior.

This lamp works well in the kitchen, bedroom, dining room or hallway. In any room where a focused and directed light is sought, it fits effortlessly. Being adjustable, it allows the angle of the beam to be directed toward the exact point to be highlighted, whether a work area, a picture on the wall or simply the centre of the room.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in the design and manufacture of indoor and outdoor luminaires. Its products combine solid technical criteria with a careful finish, designed to last and maintain its appearance over time.

Installation and specifications

To install this lamp in the ceiling, it is necessary to have a recessed cutout compatible with the diameter of the ring. Before starting installation, the power must be switched off at the electrical panel. The connection must be made by a qualified electrician, especially if there is no existing wiring at the installation point. The lamp does not include a GU10 LED bulb, so it will need to be purchased separately before putting the lamp into operation.

The matte black finish of the steel body does not require special products for maintenance. Simply wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth to remove accumulated dust. Abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the surface must not be used. Since this luminaire has IP20, it is not protected against moisture, so it must not be installed in bathrooms or spaces with frequent condensation.

Design and use

The body of this lamp is made of steel with a matte black finish. It is a material that gives solidity to the assembly without adding weight, which makes handling easier during installation. The matte black does not reflect ambient light, which means the luminaire goes almost unnoticed when integrated into the ceiling. In spaces with white or neutral-coloured ceilings, the contrast is subtle but adds a modern touch to the overall look.

The design is circular with clean lines. There are no decorative elements that overload the appearance of the lamp. It is precisely that simplicity that makes it compatible with very different styles: from Nordic or minimalist interiors to more industrial or contemporary spaces. Recessed lights of this type tend to pair well with other elements such as surface-mounted lights in larger areas, or LED strips in frames and mouldings.

The adjustable function is one of the most practical features of this luminaire. Unlike a fixed lamp, this one allows the spotlight to be rotated toward wherever it is needed. In a kitchen, for example, it can be directed toward the worktop to improve visibility in the work area. In a dining room, it can point toward the table to create a more defined atmosphere. In bedrooms, it can be aimed at the headboard for reading without disturbing someone sleeping nearby. That versatility means a single lamp can serve several purposes depending on how it is positioned.

The GU10 socket is a widely used standard in modern interior lighting. It allows bulbs of different colour temperatures to be found, from warm whites to cool ones, depending on the atmosphere desired. The maximum power of 8 W is sufficient to illuminate a specific point without generating excessive heat. By operating at voltages between 100 V and 240 V, it is compatible with the standard electrical installation in Spain and in most European countries.

Given its dimensions, with a diameter of 89 mm and a depth of 55 mm, this lamp fits standard false ceilings without requiring a deep cutout. This is an advantage in spaces where the margin between the actual ceiling and the false ceiling is limited. Its weight of just 100 grams makes it very easy to handle during installation.

Overall, it is a modern lamp designed for those seeking a clean result, without bulky surface-mounted fittings or elements that distract. It can be used as the main lighting in small spaces or as a complement in larger rooms, where recessed lights are combined with other light sources to achieve different lighting planes. The black finish makes it a piece with its own style within a contemporary home setting, without imposing a specific aesthetic on the rest of the space.

Questions and answers
