Overview

The FARO recessed spotlight is a ceiling lamp designed to integrate without drawing attention. Its round shape and matte white finish make it easy to fit in spaces where modern design takes priority over heavy decoration. The luminaire is intended for commercial and hospitality projects, but its compact dimensions and clean aesthetic also make it suitable for home environments: kitchen, bedroom, dining room, or any area where neat, cable-free lighting is desired.

The body is made of die-cast aluminum, giving it solidity without adding unnecessary weight. The diffuser is made of transparent glass, allowing light to pass through without excessive filtering. The lamp has a low profile — just 90 mm in diameter and 145 mm in depth — and is installed directly into the ceiling without additional structures. Compatible with GU10 LED bulbs of up to 8W, it is an efficient solution for those seeking modern lighting with a clean result.

FARO is a brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its products combine functionality with a style that does not age quickly. The modern design of this line reflects that way of working: without excess, with materials that last.

Installation and specifications

To install this ceiling lamp, a hole must be prepared in the false ceiling or corresponding cladding. The required cutting diameter is 90 mm. Before starting, always disconnect the power at the electrical panel. The connection requires basic electrical knowledge; if you have no experience, it is best to have it done by an electrician. The luminaire is compatible with voltages between 100V and 240V, so it works without adapters in standard installations. Remember to purchase the GU10 LED bulb separately, as it is not included.

To clean the aluminum body, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the matte white finish. The glass diffuser can be cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not handle the lamp with the power connected. Replace the bulb only when the spotlight is switched off and cool.

Design and use

This FARO recessed ceiling lamp is built with die-cast aluminum, a material that combines structural strength with a very low weight. The result is a luminaire that is easy to install and does not burden the ceiling with unnecessary weight. The matte white finish of the body is neutral by definition: it does not dominate the space, but it does not disappear either. It integrates naturally into white, grey, or light-toned ceilings, and does not break the visual continuity of any style.

The transparent glass diffuser allows the GU10 LED light to work without interruption. There are no filters that soften excessively, nor materials that yellow over time. The lighting it produces is direct and defined, suitable for areas where good visibility is needed: a kitchen counter, an office workstation, the counter of a commercial premises, or a hotel corridor. In home environments, it works equally well above a dining table, in a bathroom, or over the reading area of a bedroom.

The fixture has a diameter of 90 mm, making it a valid option for ceilings with limited space or for installations where discretion is desired. It does not take up more visual space than necessary. Combined in groups, these fixtures create uniform lines of lighting that bring order and warmth at the same time. In a kitchen, for example, a row of recessed spotlights above the worktop resolves functional lighting without adding decorative elements that distract.

In bedrooms, this type of lamp works well when the aim is to do without hanging lights without sacrificing well-distributed illumination. Two or three units placed strategically can replace a central ceiling lamp with a more modern and flexible result. In double bedrooms, the paired arrangement above each bedside table is a common solution in hospitality projects that more and more people are replicating at home.

In the dining room, recessed ceiling lights work well as supplementary lighting or as the main light source when combined with dimmer switches. The round shape of this spotlight is neutral and does not impose a specific style, making it easy to use in modern, Nordic, or minimalist interiors. It does not clash in spaces with warmer decoration if a GU10 bulb with a suitable color temperature is chosen.

The IP44 protection rating broadens its range of uses. A lamp with this classification tolerates humidity and splashes, making it suitable for bathrooms and kitchens without additional special installations. In commercial projects, this is also relevant: covered terraces, spas, changing rooms, or any area with steam or ambient humidity can incorporate this spotlight without any issues.

The net weight of 0.25 kg makes handling easy during installation. It is a luminaire designed to be installed quickly and without complications, which in projects with many units makes a real difference in time and effort. The modern design and aluminum construction ensure that the final result is durable and visually consistent, whether in an installation with two units or in a project with dozens of light points.

Questions and answers

Is this recessed lamp suitable for installation in the bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 protection rating of this spotlight makes it suitable for areas with humidity and splashes, such as the bathroom or kitchen. No additional accessories are required for use in these spaces.

What cutting diameter do I need in the ceiling to install this fixture?

The total diameter of the luminaire is 90 mm, so the installation hole in the ceiling must have that same diameter. Check the measurements before making the cut.

Is the GU10 bulb included with the lamp?

No, the light source is not included. You need to purchase a GU10 LED bulb of up to 8W separately. This format is very common and easy to find in any lighting or appliance store.
