Overview

The FRESH recessed light by FARO is a ceiling lamp designed to integrate flush with the ceiling surface, leaving no visible frames. Its die-cast aluminum structure in a gold finish gives it presence without drawing too much attention — something that makes a real difference in well-resolved lighting projects. It is a lamp designed for spaces where detail matters: hotels, restaurants, commercial premises, and also for those who seek that same level of finish at home.

The frameless design is what makes this lamp work well in interiors where a clean line is desired. The light stays on the ceiling, the fixture disappears into it. That is exactly what those who opt for modern and discreet lights are looking for. FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting, recognized for combining quality materials with a style that does not age quickly.

Installation and specifications

To install this lamp, a pre-prepared opening in the ceiling is required. The cut diameter must match the total diameter of the luminaire, which is 120 mm. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician, as it involves connection to the electrical mains. Check that the ceiling has the appropriate thickness and structure to support the recessed light before making the cut. The GU10 lamp is not included, so it must be purchased separately before the point is ready for use.

To clean the surface, use a soft, dry cloth. If there is accumulated dirt, a slightly damp cloth without abrasive products is sufficient. Avoid solvents or chemical cleaners that could damage the gold finish of the aluminum. Do not handle the lamp with the power connected. When you need to replace the GU10 bulb, disconnect the circuit from the electrical panel before touching anything.

Design and use

The FRESH lamp is made of die-cast aluminum, a material that combines lightness with solidity. The gold finish gives it its own character without appearing overdone. In spaces that work with warm tones, light woods, or metallic surfaces, this type of lamp functions as a detail that adds without competing with the rest of the interior design.

The frameless design is both a functional and aesthetic decision at the same time. When the lamp is recessed into the ceiling, the eye does not pause on it. This allows attention to go to the illuminated space, not the fixture. For those who have a defined style and want modern lights that do not interrupt the visual composition of the ceiling, this matters more than it might seem.

In a kitchen, this recessed light can go above the countertop or work surface, where direct and precise light is needed. Correctly positioned above the counter, it directs the beam exactly where it is needed. In a dining room, several recessed lights distributed across the ceiling generate uniform lighting that does not depend on a single central point. In bedrooms, the discreet integration of this lamp into the ceiling helps maintain the calm atmosphere sought in those spaces.

In double or single bedrooms, the recessed light can be complemented with other warmer light sources to create different atmospheres depending on the time of day. As a home office or in a work room, this type of ceiling-recessed downlight provides functional light without occupying visual space.

In hospitality projects, the discreet design is a clear asset. A hotel or restaurant that opts for frameless downlights achieves a much cleaner reading of the ceiling than with conventional lamps. Downlights of this type integrate easily into both modern interior design and spaces that combine styles.

The gold finish of the aluminum body holds up well over time with basic care. This is not a delicate finish: die-cast aluminum is robust and maintains its appearance with minimal maintenance. That makes it a practical option for spaces with intensive use, where there is no time for complicated upkeep.

Compatibility with GU10 LED bulbs of up to 8W allows you to choose the color temperature that best suits each space. A warmer temperature favors relaxed atmospheres, while a more neutral or cool light is more useful in work areas. This flexibility means the same lamp can function differently depending on what is placed in the socket.

With a weight of 0.27 kg, the recessed light does not require a special ceiling structure. Its compact size, with 120 mm in all its external dimensions, makes installation easy even in ceilings with little space between the panel and the slab. It is a lamp that fits well where other solutions have no room.

Questions and answers

Does the FRESH lamp include the GU10 bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The GU10 bulb is not included. It must be purchased separately before the light point is put into use. The lamp accepts GU10 LED bulbs of up to 8W.

What is the required cut diameter in the ceiling to install this recessed light?

The total diameter of the luminaire is 120 mm. The cut in the ceiling must match that measurement. We recommend confirming this with the electrician before making the opening.

Is the gold finish of the aluminum body resistant to everyday use?

Yes. Die-cast aluminum is a robust material that maintains its appearance well with basic maintenance. Simply cleaning the surface with a soft cloth is enough to keep the finish in good condition.
