Overview

FLAC is a ceiling recessed light from the brand FARO designed for those looking for a discreet, compact, and durable lamp. It works well in bathrooms, hallways, and passageways where space is tight and humidity can be a factor. Thanks to its IP65 certification, this lamp handles moisture and steam without issues, so it can be installed both indoors and in covered outdoor areas.

The body is made of white aluminum with a transparent glass diffuser, giving a clean and neat result. Being adjustable, it allows you to direct the light exactly where needed, which is useful when you want to highlight a specific area or illuminate a corner without installing multiple lights at once.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their products follow a functional and refined style, designed to last and fit effortlessly into different types of interiors.

Installation and specifications

To install this lamp in the ceiling, it is necessary to prepare the recessed opening with the appropriate dimensions. Before starting any electrical work, the power must be cut at the main panel. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, it is advisable to hire an electrician. The GU10 LED bulb is not included, so it is a good idea to have it on hand before installation.

The aluminum body requires no special maintenance. To clean the surface, simply use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the white finish. The glass diffuser can be cleaned with a dry cloth to keep it mark-free. The bulb should not be handled with unprotected hands, as fingerprints can affect its performance.

Design and use

The FLAC recessed light from FARO takes up very little space and goes unnoticed once installed. The modern design of the white aluminum body fits with almost any ceiling finish: painted plaster, stucco, lacquered wood. It does not draw attention to itself, but it does its job well.

The fact that it is adjustable makes a difference in small spaces. In a narrow hallway, for example, you can direct the beam of light toward a wall or a specific point on the floor without needing to install a bar with multiple spotlights. This simplifies installation and reduces the number of light points needed. In a bathroom, where every detail matters, this lamp allows you to illuminate the mirror or shower area with precision, without humidity being an issue.

IP65 protection is not something you see, but you notice it when choosing a humid space or a covered porch. Many standard recessed lights are not prepared for those conditions, and over time the interior deteriorates. This outdoor model is designed from the start to withstand that type of environment.

The transparent glass diffuser lets light through without filters or distortions. The result is clean, direct lighting, without halos or strange shadows. For a small kitchen where good light over the countertop is wanted, or for a dining room where precision lighting of a specific area is needed, this type of diffuser works better than an opaline one.

In terms of style, the white finish and compact profile make this lamp easy to combine. It works well with minimalist, Scandinavian, or simply neutral interiors. It does not distort the aesthetics of the space or compete with other decorative elements. In bedrooms or rooms with low ceilings, where a hanging lamp does not fit well, this recessed light is a practical solution that does not compromise the look of the room.

The aluminum body is lightweight but solid. Despite the net weight being only 100 grams, the construction conveys stability. The working voltage between 100V and 277V makes it compatible with electrical installations from different countries, which can be useful if it is a renovation in a property with an older installation or if the property is in an area with variable voltage.

For those thinking about modern home lighting without complications, the FLAC covers that need well. There is no need for a spotlight bar or complex designer lamps to achieve a clean result. Sometimes all it takes is a well-placed recessed light that directs the light where it belongs. Modern lights in a small space can transform the feel of a room without the need for major structural changes.

This model is part of FARO's line of ceiling lights and recessed fixtures designed for everyday home use. The brand maintains a modern design across all its products, with attention to detail and materials that perform well over time. It is an option for those who want a neat result without looking for something eye-catching. In a bathroom, hallway, kitchen, or dining room renovation, this type of ceiling light resolves the lighting without adding visual noise to the space.

Questions and answers

Can the FLAC recessed light be installed in a bathroom with a shower or on a porch exposed to humidity?

Yes. This model has IP65 protection, which means it is prepared for humid environments and covered outdoor areas. It can be installed in bathrooms with steam, shower areas, or covered porches without humidity affecting the lamp's performance.

Is the GU10 LED bulb included with the recessed light?

No, the light source is not included. A Mini GU10 type bulb compatible with the indicated maximum power of 3W must be purchased separately. It is advisable to have it on hand before starting the installation to avoid having to interrupt the process.

In which direction can the spotlight be adjusted once installed in the ceiling?

The body of the recessed light is adjustable, which allows the direction of the light beam to be adjusted within a range of movement once the lamp is fixed to the ceiling. This makes it possible to direct the lighting toward a specific area without needing to change the position of the installation point.
