Overview

FLAC is an orientable recessed ceiling spotlight designed for spaces where every centimeter counts. Its compact 55 mm body and white aluminum finish allow it to blend in without drawing attention — what it does well, it does without fuss. It is a lamp designed for hallways, transitional areas, kitchens, or any corner of the home where precisely directed light is needed.

The modern frameless design is what sets FLAC apart within its category. When recessed into the ceiling, it sits practically flush with the surface, with no visible edges interrupting the continuity of the ceiling. The orientable head allows you to point the light exactly where it is needed, without moving the lamp or altering the installation.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting for the home and commercial environments. Its products combine functionality and measured style, designed for those seeking lighting solutions that last and do not go out of place over time.

Installation and specifications

For the installation of this recessed ceiling spotlight, it is recommended to have a qualified electrician, especially if no junction box is already in place. A hole must be prepared in the ceiling with a diameter corresponding to the 55 mm body. The lamp requires a GU10 LED light source, which is not included and must be purchased separately. Verify that the electrical installation supports the indicated voltage (100V–277V) before connecting.

To keep the lamp in good condition, clean the surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the white aluminum finish. Always turn off the lamp before handling or cleaning it. Do not force the orientation mechanism beyond its natural range of movement.

Design and use

The FLAC recessed spotlight by FARO is built in aluminum with a matte white finish, a material that provides solidity without adding unnecessary weight. At just 0.08 kg, it is easy to handle during installation and places no burden on lightweight ceiling structures. The body measures 55 mm in all its dimensions and has a depth of 100 mm, making it compatible with ceilings where available space in the back cavity is limited.

The absence of a frame is one of the most valued features in this type of lamp. Many recessed downlights have an outer ring that, over time, can accumulate dust or look visually dated if the room's style changes. FLAC does away with that element and offers a clean finish that adapts to both modern interior designs and more functional spaces where understated simplicity is the goal.

The orientable head allows the light beam to be directed independently. This is especially useful in long hallways, where a fixed lamp only illuminates the installation point and leaves the rest in shadow. With FLAC, the light can be aimed at the area that needs it most — the entrance, a picture on the wall, a step — without changing the position of the recessed fitting in the ceiling.

In the kitchen, this type of lamp works well over specific work areas: countertop, sink, or preparation zone. Directed lights improve visibility without the need to install an additional lighting bar. In the dining room, several orientable recessed spotlights allow for a flexible lighting scheme, with the possibility of highlighting the table or the sides of the room depending on the time of day.

In bedrooms, FLAC provides discreet lighting that does not interrupt the clean reading of the ceiling. Some prefer to avoid pendant lamps in small bedrooms because they reduce the sense of height. A recessed fitting of this size resolves that issue without sacrificing light quality. In double bedrooms, placing two units oriented symmetrically can effectively replace bedside lamps.

The style of the body is deliberately neutral. The white aluminum does not compete with any type of decoration — it works equally well in a warm-toned environment as in one with a cool palette. It has no decorative details that tie it to a specific trend, making it an option that does not become obsolete. For those seeking modern lighting without the fixture itself being the visual focal point, this model fits well.

Compatibility with voltages between 100V and 277V makes it suitable for different types of electrical installation, without the need for intermediate transformers. The GU10 LED light source — not included — allows the user to choose the color temperature that best suits each space: warm light for bedrooms, neutral or cool light for kitchens and work areas.

In a well-planned home, accent lighting makes a difference. A powerful central downlight is not necessary if the key points of the space are well covered. Orientable recessed spotlights like FLAC allow that kind of scheme to be built in an orderly and modern way without resorting to complex installations.

Questions and answers

Does this lamp include the GU10 LED light source?

No, the GU10 LED bulb is not included in the pack. It must be purchased separately. It is recommended to choose a GU10 LED compatible with the indicated maximum power of 3 W.

What is the diameter of the hole required in the ceiling to install this recessed fitting?

The body of the recessed fitting has a total diameter of 55 mm, so the hole in the ceiling must have approximately that same measurement. Before making the cut, consult the manufacturer's installation instructions to confirm the exact tolerances.

Does the orientable head have a limited range of movement or can it rotate in any direction?

The head is orientable within a range of movement designed to direct the light beam with precision. It does not rotate 360 degrees, but it allows the lighting angle to be adjusted practically without the need for tools. It should not be forced beyond its natural travel so as not to damage the mechanism.
