Overview

FLAC is a ceiling recessed light from the brand FARO designed for spaces where every centimeter counts. Its compact black aluminum body, with no visible frame, integrates into the ceiling without drawing attention. Thanks to its adjustable head, it allows directing light exactly where needed, whether over a specific object, a circulation area, or a particular corner of the room.

It is an especially useful lamp in hallways, circulation areas, and small spaces where a conventional luminaire would take up too much room. It also fits well in kitchens with low ceilings, inside built-in wardrobes, or as supplementary lighting in any room where discretion and precision are sought. The modern design of FLAC does not impose a specific style: it works equally well in contemporary interiors as in more sober spaces.

FARO is a brand of Spanish origin with decades of experience in the home lighting sector. Its catalog includes both luminaires for everyday home use and more technical solutions, always with attention to detail and material durability.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this ceiling lamp, it is necessary to prepare a recessed hole in the ceiling with a diameter of 55 mm. It is recommended to cut with an appropriate tool and verify that there are no cables or pipes in the cutting area. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Make sure the electrical circuit is de-energized before any intervention. The compatible voltage is 100V to 277V, making it suitable for installations with different electrical standards. Remember that the GU10 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.

For maintenance, clean the aluminum surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the black finish. Do not touch the bulb with unprotected hands when installing or replacing it. Make sure the lamp is completely cool and unpowered before any cleaning or light source replacement intervention.

Design and use

The FLAC recessed light from FARO is an adjustable ceiling lamp designed for those who need precision in light direction without sacrificing the appearance of the ceiling. Its body is made of aluminum, a material that combines lightness with solidity. Weighing just 80 grams net and with dimensions of 55 x 55 mm at the base, it is one of the most compact recessed lights on the market. Despite its small size, the matte black finish gives it a clean and defined presence on any surface.

The adjustable head is one of the most useful elements of this modern design. It allows adjusting the lighting angle without needing to move the lamp or make modifications to the installation. This is especially practical in hallways, where the position of the lights does not always coincide exactly with the point to be illuminated. Also in kitchens, where the countertop or a specific work area may need a more direct spotlight, this type of adjustable recessed light offers a simple solution.

In bedrooms, the FLAC can function as a reading light recessed into the ceiling, replacing a bedside lamp or a wall sconce. In double bedrooms, two units placed on each side of the bed allow personalizing the direction of each spotlight without interfering with the other. The result is tidy and with no visible cables.

The absence of an outer frame makes this lamp blend into the ceiling once installed. There is no metal rim or decorative ring: just the small black circle of the recessed light, clean and without ornamentation. This discretion is especially valued on white ceilings or in spaces where an invisible flush aesthetic is desired. Unlike other flush lights with a visible ring, the FLAC does not visually interrupt the ceiling surface.

In terms of style, the black aluminum body fits well with industrial, Nordic, or minimalist interiors. It also works as a contrast in white or grey spaces. If the rest of the electrical installation or spotlight bars are black, the FLAC integrates coherently into the whole. A row of FLAC recessed lights aligned in a long hallway, for example, creates an orderly and characterful sequence.

The use of GU10 LED technology ensures low consumption and a long service life. Compatibility with voltages between 100V and 277V makes it suitable for installations in different countries without additional adapters. It is a practical option for renovation projects where modern finishes are sought without technical complications.

In covered outdoor spaces, such as porches or covered passageways, this type of recessed light may also be considered, although it is always advisable to verify the necessary protection rating according to environmental exposure. For indoor use, there are no additional restrictions.

The design of FLAC responds to a clear trend in interior lighting: modern installations that are as unobtrusive as possible but illuminate exactly what is needed. A small, functional lamp without superfluous elements, designed to integrate into the space without unnecessary prominence.

Questions and answers

Does the FLAC recessed light require a specific size hole in the ceiling?

Yes. The total diameter of the recessed light is 55 mm, so the installation hole in the ceiling must match that measurement. It is recommended to use a hole saw of the appropriate size to achieve a clean cut.

Is the GU10 LED bulb included in the package?

No. The GU10 LED light source is not included and must be purchased separately. Make sure to choose a bulb compatible with the Mini GU10 socket and with a maximum power of 3W.

Does the FLAC head allow directing the light in different directions once installed?

Yes. The head is adjustable, which allows changing the angle of the light after installation without needing to remove the lamp or modify the mounting.
