Overview

DOP is a recessed ceiling lamp designed for those looking for clean, discreet lighting in any room of the home. It integrates into the ceiling without taking up volume, making it an especially practical option in rooms where space matters. It is equally suitable for a hallway, kitchen, dining room, or bedroom where uniform lighting without visual distractions is desired.

The lamp operates with included SMD LED technology, meaning it arrives ready to install. The 3000K color temperature produces a warm light that is easy on the eyes and adapts well to relaxed environments. The opaline polycarbonate diffuser distributes that light evenly, without bright spots or harsh shadows.

FARO is a brand with a track record in the home lighting sector, with products that combine functional design with durable materials. Their luminaires are designed for everyday use, without unnecessary complications.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this lamp, check that the opening in the ceiling has the appropriate dimensions for the DOP model. As a recessed ceiling luminaire, sufficient space in the plenum is required to house the aluminum body. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Before starting any work, disconnect the power supply at the distribution board. Verify that the installation voltage is between 220V and 240V, which is the compatible range for this product.

The white aluminum body requires no special maintenance. To clean it, simply use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The opaline diffuser may accumulate dust over time; clean it gently to maintain optimal light diffusion. Do not handle the lamp with wet hands or while it is switched on.

Design and use

The DOP model by FARO is a recessed ceiling lamp with an aluminum body and white finish. Its round shape and discreet profile allow it to blend into virtually any interior style without drawing too much attention. It is the type of luminaire that disappears visually when switched off and fulfills its function without standing out when switched on.

Aluminum is a material that combines lightness and strength. In a recessed lamp, this has practical importance: the unit is easy to handle during installation and does not add unnecessary weight to the ceiling structure. The white finish works well both on white ceilings, where the lamp is nearly seamlessly integrated, and on ceilings of other colors, where the contrast can serve as a modern design detail.

The opaline polycarbonate diffuser is one of the most relevant elements of this ceiling light. Unlike transparent diffusers, the opal filters the LED light and distributes it softly throughout the room. This reduces direct glare and creates a more comfortable atmosphere, especially in spaces where extended time is spent, such as the dining room or bedroom. The light at 3000K has a warm tone, close to traditional incandescent light, making it suitable for rest and living areas.

The integrated SMD LED technology consumes a maximum of 15W. This is a moderate figure for the level of illumination it provides, and the fact that the light source is included simplifies both the purchase and the setup. There is no need to search for compatible bulbs or make additional calculations.

As for the spaces where it fits best, this lamp works well in kitchens where general lighting without visible fixtures is desired. It is also a good choice for hallways, entryways, bathrooms, or any area where a surface-mounted ceiling light or pendant lamp would be too bulky. In bedrooms where a clean, tidy ceiling is preferred, recessed lights like this one offer an aesthetic and functional solution at the same time.

The restrained style of the DOP makes it compatible with modern, minimalist, or Nordic interiors. It can also be combined without difficulty in more eclectic spaces, alongside other decorative elements. To achieve uniform lighting in a larger room, it can be installed together with other units of the same model, creating a symmetrical arrangement that reinforces the modern appearance of the space. Above a kitchen counter or in a work area, several aligned units provide directional lighting with good visual performance.

The weight of 0.4 kg makes handling straightforward, even for a single person during the installation process. The white finish not only serves an aesthetic purpose but also facilitates cleaning and long-term maintenance.

In summary, the DOP is a lamp designed for those who want to solve the lighting of a space in a simple way, without sacrificing a tidy visual result and a modern style.

Questions and answers

Does the DOP lamp include the LED light source, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The SMD LED light source is included with the product. You do not need to acquire any additional components for the lamp to work from the very first moment.

What kind of light does a color temperature of 3000K produce in a bedroom or dining room?

At 3000K, the light has a warm, soft tone, similar to that of traditional incandescent bulbs. It is a shade that promotes relaxed atmospheres and is pleasant in spaces such as the dining room or bedrooms, where cold or intense lighting is not desired.

Does the opaline diffuser affect the amount of light emitted by the ceiling light?

The opaline diffuser filters and distributes light evenly, which reduces direct bright spots. The resulting illumination is softer and more uniform, ideal for spaces where glare is to be avoided, although it implies a slight reduction in perceived light intensity compared to a transparent diffuser.
