VENICE is a hanging ceiling lamp designed by Adolfo Abejón for the FARO collection. It fits well in a large living room, in a dining room with a central table, or in a room where a light source with its own character is desired. The minimalist design means it does not compete with the rest of the furniture, but simply exists there, fulfilling its function with a clear presence.

The shade is made of ceramic handcrafted in a workshop in Barcelona. This is evident in the finish: it is not a mass-produced piece, but something with a texture and proportion that are difficult to imitate. The pendant lamp connects to an E27 LED bulb, and installation can be carried out by the user without special tools.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this ceiling lamp, check that the anchor point on the ceiling can support the weight of the assembly. An existing ceiling rose or junction box is required. If you have no experience with electrical installations, it is recommended to consult an electrician. The pendant lamp includes a cable and is fixed directly to the ceiling from the top of the lamp holder.

The ceramic does not require chemical products for cleaning: a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasives. The steel metal part can be cleaned in the same way. Do not handle the LED bulb while the lamp is on or immediately after switching it off.

Design and use

The ceramic shade of VENICE has a shape reminiscent of an oval piece, rounded in its proportions and visually balanced. It is not a bare bulb or a transparent glass globe. The ceramic covers the light source in such a way that light filters through diffusely, without direct glare. The result in the room is warm lighting without harsh contrasts.

The black finish of the metal body contrasts with the whiteness of the ceramic shade. This combination works well in modern interiors where black is present in other elements: frames, furniture legs, or window profiles. It can also appear as a unique contrast in a lighter environment, where the pendant lamp acts as a punctual color element.

In the dining room, a hanging ceiling lamp above the table functions as the visual axis of the entire space. VENICE has a contained size — 160 mm in diameter — making it suitable for medium-sized tables or for hanging in groups of two or three units over longer tables. The total cable height reaches 2230 mm, which allows room to adjust the drop according to the ceiling height of the space.

In the bedroom, a pendant lamp on each side of the bed can replace bedside table lamps. It takes up less space on the surface and the visual result is cleaner. VENICE is discreet enough not to alter the atmosphere of the bedroom, yet has enough personality to be noticed.

In the kitchen, this type of ceiling lamp fits particularly well above an island or work area. The ceramic is easy to clean and does not accumulate dirt in the same way as other materials. One or two pendant lights at the same height can visually organize the work space.

In the bathroom, if a ceiling point is available for this purpose, an oval pendant lamp like VENICE adds a different touch compared to the usual wall sconce. In hallways or entrances, where the ceiling tends to be low, the cable can be shortened so that the lamp sits at a comfortable height without obstructing passage.

The handcrafted ceramic means that no two units are exactly alike. There are small surface variations that are part of the manual manufacturing process in the Barcelona workshop. This gives each lamp its own character, far removed from standardized industrial production.

VENICE is also available in black, pink, and white finishes, allowing it to be adapted to different color schemes without changing the form. Compatibility with LED is another advantage: it consumes little energy and the bulb lasts longer than traditional alternatives. The E27 light source is the most common socket, so finding a suitable bulb presents no problem.

Does the pendant lamp cable allow height adjustment?

The total length indicated in the specifications is 2230 mm. Depending on the anchor point on the ceiling and the height of the room, it is possible to gather the cable internally to adjust the drop to the desired height.

Does this ceiling lamp work with any E27 bulb or only with LED?

The lamp holder is compatible with any E27 socket bulb. The maximum power indicated is 15 W, so it is recommended to use an LED bulb that does not exceed this limit.
