Overview

SAVOY is a pendant lamp designed for indoor spaces where lighting is part of the visual atmosphere as much as the functional one. It is ceiling-mounted and works well in dining rooms, living rooms, and bedrooms where a central light source with a defined character is desired.

The element that distinguishes this lamp is the metal ring located at the top of the shade. Light bounces off that surface and creates a soft upward reflection, adding depth to the space without the need to install additional lights. The shade is made of black fabric, and together with the steel structure in the same color, the overall piece has a clear presence without feeling visually heavy.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long history in lighting. Their products combine design criteria with durable materials, and SAVOY is part of that line: a designer pendant lamp, created by Isaac Piñeiro, built to last and to integrate into different types of interiors.

Installation and specifications

Before installation, make sure the ceiling light point is properly secured and can support the weight of the lamp. It is mounted directly to the ceiling using the included suspension system. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially if it is a first-time installation or if the wiring needs to be adapted. The bulb is not included: you will need an E27 LED type with a maximum power of 15 W.

To clean the textile shade, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid chemical products or solvents that may alter the fabric or the metal finish. Always disconnect the lamp from the power supply before cleaning it or changing the bulb. Do not exceed the indicated maximum wattage.

Design and use

The SAVOY lamp starts from a simple idea: focusing attention on the form and letting the light do the rest. The oval black fabric shade covers the light source and directs illumination downward, creating a warm and well-defined cone of light. But what gives the piece its character is the metal ring at the top. When the bulb is on, that ring captures part of the light and reflects it toward the ceiling, generating a halo that visually extends the height of the space.

The structure is made of steel with a matte black finish. It is a material that maintains its appearance well over time and does not accumulate dirt easily. The oval shade, also black, is made of fabric, which gives it a warmer feel than metal or glass finishes. That combination of steel and fabric in a single lamp balances the industrial with the textile, and the result is an object that can fit into modern interiors, spaces with Nordic touches, or more understated environments.

In a dining room, the SAVOY pendant lamp works above the table as a focal point. The light it projects downward illuminates the work surface well without spreading diffusely throughout the entire room. The reflection from the upper ring adds a second layer of light that rises toward the ceiling and rounds out the atmosphere without the need to install additional lights. In that context, the oval shade gains presence without interrupting the visual conversations of the space.

In a bedroom, the same lamp behaves differently. Placed above the nightstand or centered on the ceiling, it provides a more intimate light. The pendant shade directs the beam downward and the upper reflection remains as a visual detail that does not disturb if the bulb has low wattage.

The kitchen is another space where this type of luminaire makes sense. If there is an island or a long countertop, a pendant lamp above it clearly defines the work area. The scale of SAVOY — 420 mm in diameter — is suitable for medium-sized spaces without being disproportionate.

The bathroom may seem like a less obvious space for this type of lamp, but in large bathrooms with high ceilings, a pendant luminaire can work very well as general ambient lighting. In that case, it is advisable to verify the placement in relation to wet zones before installation.

In terms of combination with other elements, the SAVOY lamp in black adapts well to wood surfaces, dark iron metal structures, or light-colored walls where the contrast is clean. The design of the oval shade does not compete with other objects in the space, but occupies its place naturally.

Questions and answers

Is the oval shade of SAVOY rigid or flexible?

The shade is made of textile fabric over a structure that maintains its oval shape. It is not rigid like glass or metal, but it does not deform with normal use either. The fabric gives the piece a warmer appearance than other materials commonly used in pendant luminaires.

Is the lamp compatible with standard E27 screw-base bulbs?

Yes. The SAVOY lamp uses an E27 LED bulb with a maximum power of 15 W. The bulb is not included with the product, so it must be purchased separately. It is recommended to use an LED bulb to better take advantage of energy efficiency.

Does the suspension cable allow the height of the lamp above the ceiling to be adjusted?

The suspension system is designed for ceiling installation. The total height of the lamp is 311 mm. For exact information on cable adjustment options, please refer to the instructions included in the packaging or contact our customer service team.
