Overview

The SAMBA lamp by FARO is a suspension luminaire designed for interior spaces where light and style go hand in hand. With its multiple canopy version featuring 7 lights, it creates a clear and balanced visual presence above the dining table, in the living room, or in any room where you're looking for something more than just illumination. It's not a lamp that goes unnoticed, but it doesn't compete with the rest of the space either — it complements it.

The combination of a matte black steel body and a green fabric shade results in a piece that fits well in both domestic interiors and hospitality projects. It's a valid option for those who want to update their ceiling lighting without resorting to something generic.

FARO is a company with a long track record in interior and exterior lighting design. The SAMBA collection is part of its Faro Lab line, focused on proposals with their own identity.

Installation and specifications

For installation, a previously prepared ceiling light point is required. Since it is a pendant lamp with a long cable, it is advisable to carefully calculate the final height before securing it — especially in spaces with low ceilings. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. The socket is E27, compatible with standard LED bulbs available on the market. The bulb is not included, so it must be purchased separately.

For maintenance, simply clean the steel body with a dry or slightly damp cloth. The papyrus shade should not be wet or cleaned with harsh products. Avoid exposing the lamp to direct humidity, as it is not designed for environments such as bathrooms under conditions of continuous steam.

Design and use

The SAMBA lamp in its 7-light version has a presence that is felt the moment you see it switched on. The multiple canopy distributes the light points over a wide area, making it especially useful for illuminating large dining tables or living areas with a certain spaciousness. It does not concentrate all the light at a single point, but rather spreads it more naturally across the space.

The steel body with a matte black finish gives it visual solidity without feeling heavy. It is a material that holds up well over time and does not lose its appearance with everyday use. Matte black, in particular, is a finish that does not reflect light in an uncomfortable way and maintains a clean look for longer than glossy finishes.

The white papyrus shade is what gives this pendant lamp its character. Papyrus is a material that filters light gently, creating a warm atmosphere without harsh contrasts. It is not glass, it is not plastic — it has its own texture that can be perceived even from a distance. The green color of the overall piece adds a touch of color that can work as an accent in neutral interiors or complement bolder palettes.

In the living room, this ceiling lamp can become the central element of the décor. Suspended at the right height above a coffee table or in front of a sofa, it creates an atmosphere that invites you to stay. In the dining room, the 7 distributed lights ensure there are no dark areas during meals. It also fits well in a spacious bedroom where a lighting point with personality is desired, or in a modern-style kitchen where black and green are already present in other elements.

For hospitality projects — restaurants, boutique hotels, characterful coworking spaces — the SAMBA collection offers a serious alternative. Its design is not neutral, but it is not excessive either. It is a pendant lamp that defines the space without overwhelming it. The use of materials such as steel and papyrus gives it a sense of quality that is perceived even before switching it on.

Compatibility with standard E27 LED bulbs makes it easy to adapt to different light intensity needs. With a warm bulb, a more intimate atmosphere is achieved; with a higher color temperature bulb, the light becomes more functional. That flexibility makes it a modern lamp in the practical sense, not just the aesthetic one.

The 5000 mm cable allows for quite a wide range of height adjustment. In high ceilings it looks especially good, with the whole piece suspended at mid-height to create a clear visual focal point. In lower ceilings, it can be shortened according to the needs of the space.

Questions and answers

Does the lamp include the 7 E27 LED bulbs needed for its operation?

No, the bulbs are not included. They must be purchased separately. The socket is E27 and accepts LED bulbs of up to 15 W per light point.

Can the 5000 mm cable be shortened to adapt it to lower ceilings?

Yes, the long cable is designed precisely so that it can be adjusted during installation. It is recommended that this adjustment be carried out by an electrician, to ensure the result is properly secured and safe.

Does the white papyrus shade hold up well in humid environments, such as the bathroom?

Papyrus is sensitive to direct humidity and is not designed to withstand environments with constant steam. This lamp is intended for dry interior spaces — living room, dining room, bedroom, or kitchen without direct exposure to steam.
