Overview

PLAT 5L is a hanging ceiling lamp designed for those looking for something simple, clean, and timeless. The focus here is the bulb itself: visible, with no shades to hide it, intentionally exposed. The result is a point of light that becomes part of the atmosphere, not just a source of illumination.

This ceiling lamp works especially well in spaces where you want to maintain a tidy, unfussy style. It is a good option for the living room, dining room, or even a bedroom where warmth without complications is desired. With five light points and a multiple ceiling rose, it illuminates evenly and covers the central area of any room well.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long history in interior lighting. Its products combine quality materials with functional design, created for different home styles.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the hanging lamp, check that the ceiling point has adequate capacity and wiring. The suspension cable has a total length of 5000 mm, which allows the height to be adjusted with considerable margin. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, it is advisable to seek the help of an electrician. Make sure the power is switched off before handling any connections.

To clean the ceiling lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth on the steel structure. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte white finish. E27 LED bulbs are not included and must be purchased separately. Periodically check that the ceiling rose is securely fixed to the ceiling and that the cable does not show excessive tension or rub against surfaces.

Design and use

The PLAT 5L lamp has a very clear approach: letting the bulb speak for itself. The matte white steel structure acts as a discreet support, without competing with the light or with the other elements of the space. It is an oval hanging lamp in its overall design, with five arms extending from a central multiple ceiling rose. Each arm holds an E27 LED bulb, forming a composition that illuminates evenly and has visual presence without being overwhelming.

The matte white steel finish means this ceiling lamp fits well with light-colored walls, natural wood, or furniture in neutral tones. It is the kind of piece that adapts effortlessly to different styles: both in a Nordic-lined interior and in a more classic or contemporary setting. The Scandinavian style, in particular, finds a natural complement in this hanging lamp. The simplicity of the forms and the absence of unnecessary ornamentation follow exactly that logic.

In the dining room, the PLAT 5L creates a clear visual centerpiece above the table. The five lights are distributed so that the illumination is not concentrated at a single point, but spread more broadly. This is useful for large tables or spaces where shadowy areas are to be avoided. In the living room, it works well as main lighting when the ceiling is high enough to allow the cable to hang freely.

In the kitchen, installing this hanging lamp can also make sense if the space is open or combined with the dining area. The adjustable cable height, with its 5000 mm total length, allows it to be adapted to high ceilings or to the height that best suits each area. In the bedroom, a lamp of this type adds warmth if a warm light temperature bulb is chosen. The oval geometry and symmetrical structure mean the installation sits centered without requiring many adjustments.

The long cable also opens up possibilities in spaces with sloped ceilings or in loft areas where you want to bring the light point down to a more functional height. The structure does not include shades or diffusers: the bulb is completely exposed, which makes the design similar to vintage or industrial style lamps, though without explicitly loading the forms with those references. It is modern in its simplicity, not in its complexity.

A globe or visible filament bulb can complement this hanging lamp very well, as the design invites the bulb to be shown as part of the whole. The choice of bulb type greatly influences the final atmosphere: a warm bulb gives a more intimate result, while a neutral light bulb is more practical in work areas or kitchens.

The bathroom is not usually the typical destination for this type of ceiling lamp, but in large, well-ventilated bathrooms it can play a decorative role if installed in areas away from the shower or bathtub. In that case, it is important to verify that the humidity conditions are compatible with the installation.

Questions and answers

Does the multiple ceiling rose of the PLAT 5L allow the five lights to be installed independently, or are they all connected at a single ceiling point?

The five lights extend from a multiple ceiling rose that is fixed at a single point on the ceiling. It is not possible to separate the arms to install them at different points.

Is the 5000 mm cable length fixed, or can it be shortened during installation?

The cable can be gathered and adjusted during installation to adapt it to the desired height. It is common with this type of hanging lamp to secure the excess inside the ceiling rose or with a clamp.

What type of E27 LED bulb is most suitable for this lamp, given that the bulb is completely visible?

Since it is exposed, a filament or spherical-shaped bulb fits well with the design. The maximum admitted power is 15 W per light point.
