Overview

PLAT 3L is a three-light ceiling pendant lamp designed for those looking for something tidy and uncomplicated. It does not try to draw attention with extravagant shapes — on the contrary, it puts the focus on the bulbs, which are left exposed and become the main element of the ensemble. That simple approach is precisely what makes it versatile: it fits well in many spaces without clashing with the rest of the furniture.

The matte white finish on the steel body gives it a clean, neutral look. It is a model that tends to work very well in Scandinavian-style interiors, where clean lines and materials without excessive decoration are favored. It is available in two colors, making it easier to match the overall tone of the space.

Installation and specifications

Installing this ceiling lamp requires an earthed electrical outlet in the ceiling. Given the weight of the unit — 7.3 kg — it is advisable to verify that the ceiling support or hook can hold it without issues. The cable has a length of up to 5000 mm, which allows the hanging height to be adjusted to suit the space. Installation by a qualified electrician is recommended. Before any work, the power must be switched off at the electrical panel.

For maintenance, simply clean the steel surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products and solvents must not be used. E27 LED bulbs are not included and must be purchased separately, respecting the indicated maximum power of 15 W per light point. Do not handle the lamp while connected to the power supply.

Design and use

The PLAT 3L lamp has a design that does not seek to impose itself. The matte white metal structure acts as a discreet support, while the bulbs — visible with no diffuser to cover them — are what generate the visual effect. This is an approach widely seen in Scandinavian and Nordic style: letting the bulb be part of the décor, not something to be hidden. That means the choice of bulb matters: a filament bulb or an oval-shaped one produces a very different result from a standard LED.

The body is made of steel with a matte white finish, which gives it solidity without adding visual weight to the ensemble. It is a pendant lamp that, despite its three light points, does not overwhelm the space. The dimensions — 500 mm in length and 500 mm in depth — make it suitable for medium-sized dining tables or specific areas of a large room.

The dining room is where this type of pendant lamp tends to find its best place. Positioned above the table, it distributes light evenly across the three points, without creating brightly lit areas next to others in shadow. The adjustable cable height allows it to be set according to the distance between the ceiling and the table surface, which is generally recommended to be between 70 and 80 cm.

It can also work well in a kitchen with a central island or a long worktop, where a specific work area needs to be lit. In that context, the three light points provide broad coverage without needing to resort to a larger lamp. The white finish integrates easily with kitchen furniture in neutral tones, light wood, or any combination of understated colors.

In a living room or everyday-use room, this luminaire can be combined with other light sources to create different atmospheres depending on the time of day. It is not a lamp designed to provide general lighting for an entire large room, but rather to illuminate a specific area with intent. Above a double bed in a bedroom, or above a coffee table in a living room, the result can be very balanced.

The model accepts E27 bulbs with a standard cap, making it easy to find options in any lighting store. Since the bulb is exposed, it makes sense to choose one with a good shape and a color temperature suited to the intended use. For rest spaces such as the bedroom, warm light around 2700 K usually gives better results. For work areas or kitchens, a neutral temperature may be more practical.

The ceiling acts as the single anchor point, with a multi-canopy from which the three individual cables extend. This configuration gives the ensemble a light appearance, although the total weight of the unit is 7.3 kg, so the anchor must be firmly secured. The total cable length — 5 meters — allows it to be installed even in spaces with very high ceilings without being too short.

Questions and answers

Can the lamp cable be shortened if the ceiling is low?

The cable has a maximum length of 5000 mm, but it can be coiled or adjusted inside the canopy during installation. It is recommended that this be done by an electrician to avoid damaging the wiring or compromising the safety of the unit.

Does this lamp work with any type of E27 bulb?

It accepts any bulb with an E27 cap, as long as it does not exceed 15 W per light point. Since the bulb is exposed, the overall appearance changes considerably depending on the shape chosen — an oval or filament bulb gives a more visually refined result.

Is the multi-canopy included or sold separately?

Yes, the three-light multi-canopy is part of the PLAT 3L set. It is the version with three hanging points, so it comes ready for direct ceiling installation without the need for additional accessories.
