Overview

The FARO pendant lamp in dark grey is a suspension luminaire designed by Nahtrang to hang from the ceiling in spaces where light matters as much as atmosphere. It works well in both residential projects and restaurants, cafés, or offices with their own style. The aluminium body and opal polycarbonate diffuser combine solidity with soft light diffusion, free of bright spots or harsh shadows.

What sets this lamp apart is the included hook accessory, which allows easy adjustment of its position. It is not fixed to a single point: it can be placed exactly where needed. This makes it useful both for renovating a living room and for lighting a specific work or rest area.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their products combine aesthetic judgment with durable materials, designed for everyday use.

Installation and specifications

For installation, an existing ceiling box is required or must be prepared before mounting. The lamp is fixed directly to the ceiling using the included suspension system. It is recommended that electrical installation be carried out by a qualified professional. Before connecting, ensure the circuit is de-energised. The E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately; a bulb of up to 15 W is recommended.

To clean the aluminium body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the dark grey finish. The polycarbonate diffuser can be cleaned with a soft cloth without excessive pressure. Do not expose the lamp to direct moisture, as it is designed for use in dry indoor environments.

Design and use

The FARO pendant lamp in dark grey has an oval shape that balances visual presence with discretion. It does not seek to draw all attention, but it does not go unnoticed either. This proportion makes it compatible with different interior styles, from spaces with clean lines to environments mixing materials such as wood, iron, or industrial design elements.

The body is made of aluminium, a material that provides strength without excessive weight. Its dark grey finish is neutral in the best sense: it does not interfere with the surrounding environment, yet it gives the lamp character. The oval opal polycarbonate diffuser covers the light source and distributes the glow evenly. The light that passes through this material is warm and soft-edged, creating a pleasant atmosphere in any room.

In the dining room, a pendant lamp like this works especially well above the table. At the right height, it creates a defined light zone that makes the space feel more welcoming during meals. In the kitchen, it can be placed above the island or countertop to illuminate the work area without the need for additional ceiling lights.

For the bedroom, the light filtered through the opal diffuser avoids glare and maintains a calm atmosphere, ideal for evening hours. In the living room, an oval lamp of this type can act as a focal point without disrupting the visual balance of the whole. It also works well in the bathroom, provided it is installed in areas away from the shower or bathtub.

The hook accessory allows the lamp's position to be adjusted on the ceiling without complications. This is especially useful in businesses such as restaurants or shops, where lighting needs to adapt to furniture or layout changes. In a residential project, it offers the same freedom: if the space is rearranged, the lamp can be moved without the need for renovation work.

The E27 LED socket is compatible with a wide variety of bulbs available on the market. The LED option is the most recommended for its efficiency and longevity. Although the bulb is not included, choosing the right type directly influences the final result: a warm-toned bulb enhances the atmosphere that the opal diffuser already naturally promotes.

With a total diameter of 185 mm and a cable height of up to 1000 mm, the lamp is versatile in terms of ceiling heights. It fits well in standard ceilings and also in somewhat higher spaces where the light point needs to be lowered. Its weight of 1.3 kg makes it manageable during installation.

Questions and answers

Does the opal polycarbonate diffuser change the tone of the light compared to the installed bulb?

Yes, the opal material softens and diffuses the light, which generally results in warmer and more uniform illumination than if the bulb were left exposed. The final effect also depends on the type of E27 LED bulb chosen.

Does the hook accessory allow the lamp's position to be changed without renovation work?

Yes. The hook is designed to facilitate position adjustment on the ceiling without the need to modify the existing electrical installation. It is especially useful in premises or spaces that frequently change layout.

Is the lamp compatible with any E27 bulb on the market?

It is compatible with E27 socket bulbs of up to 15 W. The use of LED bulbs is recommended for their energy efficiency and because they generate less heat, which contributes to the durability of the polycarbonate diffuser.
