LUMINA 600 by FARO is a recessed pendant lamp designed for ceilings where presence is sought without volume. There are no visible frames, no distracting elements. Just the light and a clean form that integrates naturally into the space.

It is an option that works well in living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens or dining rooms. Any room with a smooth ceiling can accommodate this lamp without the need for complex works. The result is warm lighting at 2200K, close to the tone of fire: soft, enveloping, without harshness.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior lighting. Its products combine aesthetic criteria with technical rigour, and the LUMINA range is no exception.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this lamp in the ceiling, check that the surface is firm and can support the weight of the module. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Make sure to cut the power before any connection. The working voltage is 220V-240V, compatible with the standard electrical network in Spain and Europe. The SMD LED light source is not included, so you will need to purchase it separately before start-up.

To clean the lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the opal PC diffuser. Do not clean the luminaire with the power connected. Periodically check the ceiling fixing points to make sure everything remains securely fastened.

Design and use

The LUMINA 600 integrates into the ceiling without leaving any trace of its structure. There is no frame, no rim. The lamp sits recessed and the only thing perceived from below is the diffuse light coming from the opal module. That absence of superfluous elements is what gives it its character.

The transparent body means the lamp does not visually occupy the space. In a small room, this makes a difference: lights that weigh on the ceiling make the ceiling feel lower. Lights that integrate, like this one, do not alter the perception of volume. The bedroom or bathroom gains visual spaciousness without needing to change anything else.

The opal PC diffuser distributes light evenly. There are no bright spots or sharp shadows. The temperature of 2200K produces a light that is oval in its distribution and warm in its tone, very similar to that of a candle or an old incandescent bulb. It is the kind of light that does not tire, that makes spaces feel welcoming without one being able to explain exactly why.

This lamp works especially well in areas where ambient lighting matters more than functional lighting. A living room where atmosphere is sought, a dining room where light accompanies conversation, a bedroom where one wants to do away with coldness. Also in a bathroom, as complementary ambient light, it gives a very balanced result.

The oval pendant shape of the LUMINA 600 — long and narrow, with 1300 mm of height and only 34 mm of width — allows it to hang from the ceiling with an almost ethereal presence. It does not occupy, it suggests. It is the difference between a lamp that decorates and a lamp that is part of the space.

In a kitchen, placed above an island or a long worktop, one or several units of this lamp create a linear composition that visually organises the work area. The possibility of combining several modules is part of the original design of the LUMINA system: each piece is autonomous, but together they build something more.

The materials are simple in appearance and carefully executed. The transparent body does not visually accumulate dust and remains discreet in any colour palette. The 24W SMD LED module offers efficient, flicker-free light. There is no glass in the construction — the diffuser is made of PC — making it lighter and less fragile to handle.

This type of lamp fits well with interiors of clean lines, but also with more eclectic spaces where a modern element is sought that does not compete with the rest. A room with natural wood furniture, a kitchen with white fronts, a bathroom with mineral cladding: in all these contexts, the LUMINA 600 appears without imposing itself.

Questions and answers

Does the LUMINA 600 require a pre-existing recess in the ceiling or is it surface-mounted?

It is a recessed luminaire, so it does require a recess in the ceiling to house the module. It is not surface-mounted nor hung with a visible cable. It is important to prepare the recess with the correct dimensions before installation.

What type of LED light source is compatible with this lamp?

The lamp uses SMD LED technology integrated into the 24W module. The light source is not included with the product, so you will need to purchase it separately. Make sure it is compatible with the 220V-240V voltage and with the 2200K colour temperature if you want to maintain the original warm tone of the design.

Can the opal PC diffuser yellow over time or with heat?

Polycarbonate (PC) is a stable material against the heat generated by low-temperature LEDs. Under normal indoor use conditions, the diffuser maintains its opal finish without appreciable changes over time. Avoid cleaning it with aggressive chemical products to preserve its appearance.
