Overview

The KOMBO lamp by FARO is a suspension luminaire designed for those seeking a clean, orderly result in their interior. Its cylindrical structure in matte black and its grey metal shade build a silhouette that fits effortlessly into spaces where visual order matters. It does not draw attention aggressively — it is simply there and does its job well.

This version features a multiple canopy with 7 lights and a diameter of 40 cm, making it a solid option for illuminating large areas from the ceiling. It works well in a dining room where presence is needed without excess, in a generously proportioned living room, or in any space where a single pendant lamp would not be enough.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a track record in the world of interior lighting. Its products combine quality materials with functional design, conceived for everyday use in the home.

Installation and specifications

To install this pendant lamp on the ceiling, an electrical junction box is required at the anchor point. The suspension cable has a length of 5000 mm, allowing the height to be adjusted according to the ceiling height of each room. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially in this 7-light version, where the multiple canopy requires a precise distribution of fixing points. Before connecting, check that the electrical installation is compatible with the indicated voltage.

To clean the metal shade, a soft, slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the matte black finish of the structure. Do not handle the lamp while the power is connected. Periodically check the condition of the cable and the ceiling fixing points to ensure that everything remains in place.

Design and use

The KOMBO series was born from the Nutcreatives design studio with a clear idea: to create a family of pendant lamps that share a coherent visual language while being able to adapt to different contexts. The result is a line where each piece has its own personality without departing from the whole.

This lamp features an oval metal shade in grey that dialogues with the cylindrical upper section in matte black. The combination of both forms creates a recognisable silhouette, modern and at the same time discreet. It is not a lamp that seeks to be the centre of attention, but one that accompanies the space without interfering with the other decorative elements.

The metallic finish of the oval shade gives it visual solidity. Grey is a neutral colour that works well alongside light woods, white walls, or earth tones. It does not impose a specific palette, which makes this pendant lamp easy to integrate into different interior styles, from Nordic to industrial touches or contemporary design.

The 7-light version with multiple canopy is designed for installations where light needs to be distributed from the ceiling in a wide and balanced way. A dining room with a large table, an open-plan living room, or a kitchen with a central island are spaces where this configuration makes sense. The light beam is not concentrated at a single point, but is spread across the different arms, generating a more enveloping illumination.

With a diameter of 40 cm, the lamp occupies exactly the right visual space. It is not exaggerated, but it has enough presence not to be lost in high ceilings or rooms with a large volume. In a bedroom with a standard ceiling it can also work if the cable height is well adjusted, reaching up to 5000 mm and allowing the luminaire to be placed exactly where needed.

The weight of 1.67 kg makes it manageable during installation. The steel structure ensures it maintains its shape over time, without deformation or loss of finish. The matte black of the upper section does not reflect light, which avoids unwanted glare and keeps the aesthetic clean.

As for the light source, it uses an E27 socket with LED technology, of up to 15 W per point. Bulbs are not included, which gives freedom to choose the colour temperature according to the atmosphere to be created in each room or bathroom with sufficient height.

Questions and answers

Can the 5000 mm cable be shortened for installation in low ceilings?

Yes. The suspension cable can be adjusted to the desired height during installation. The excess can be gathered inside the canopy or cut according to the needs of the space.

Does this 7-light oval version require multiple anchor points on the ceiling?

Yes. As it features a multiple canopy, the lamp is fixed to the ceiling at more than one point to distribute the weight and ensure stability. It is important that the anchors align with the ceiling structure.

Do the 7 E27 LED bulbs operate independently or are they connected in a single circuit?

All the lights are part of the same electrical circuit of the lamp, so they switch on and off together with a single switch.
