Overview

The DIANA 800 pendant lamp by FARO is a suspension luminaire designed for accent lighting in interior spaces. Its oval profile and compact dimensions make it suitable for the living room, dining room, or bedroom, where a specific light point is desired without visually overcrowding the space.

The lamp operates with integrated SMD LED technology, ensuring low energy consumption and warm 2700K light. That color tone creates a cozy atmosphere, close to classic incandescent light. The aluminum body in a black finish gives it character without being flashy, and the transparent PC diffuser allows light to be projected cleanly and directly.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in lighting. Their products combine quality materials with functional design, intended for long-lasting domestic installations.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the pendant lamp, make sure the ceiling light point is ready for a standard connection. Always cut the power from the electrical panel before starting any work. If you have no experience with electrical installations, the safest option is to hire an electrician. The ceiling fixing must be done on a firm base that supports the weight of the luminaire. Check that the cable has the appropriate length for your room height before fixing it definitively.

To clean the aluminum body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the black finish. The PC diffuser can be cleaned with a soft cloth. Do not wet the lamp or clean it while it is connected to the power supply. This model is not suitable for humid areas such as the bathroom or kitchen if they do not have sufficient ventilation.

Design and use

The DIANA 800 is a pendant lamp with a modern line and oval silhouette that stands out for its simplicity. It measures 800 mm in height and only 32 mm in diameter, making it a very slender luminaire. That proportion makes it especially useful in spaces where you want to add light without the luminaire becoming the visual focal point of the room.

The body is made of aluminum, a resistant and lightweight material that maintains its finish well over time. The matte black coating works well both in modern-style interiors and in more understated environments. It is not a flashy design, but it does not go unnoticed either.

The diffuser is made of transparent polycarbonate, which allows the LED module inside to be visible and the light to emerge without being filtered or excessively diffused. The color temperature is 2700K, a warm light that is perceived as relaxing and that fits well in rest areas. The living room or bedroom are spaces where this type of light works especially well, because it does not strain the eyes and creates a calm atmosphere.

With only 6W of power, consumption is very low for an everyday lamp. The SMD LED system does not require frequent replacement, reducing maintenance to practically zero. The light source is not included with the product, so it is advisable to verify compatibility before purchasing.

The DIANA 800 can be installed above a dining table to create a specific light focus on the surface. It also works as accent lighting in a hallway, where its linear and slender silhouette takes up no visual space. In the bedroom, one or two units on either side of the bed can replace bedside lamps, leaving the surfaces free.

In kitchens with high ceilings, the pendant lamp can be positioned above the island or countertop to visually define that area. Its black finish combines well with appliances of the same tone and with dark wood or glass surfaces. It can also be integrated into more industrial environments thanks to the exposed metal and ornament-free design.

Although the model does not incorporate glass elements or shapes such as a ball or globe, its transparent diffuser gives a similar sense of lightness. In Nordic-style spaces, the combination of black and transparent fits without clashing with other materials such as light wood or white.

The installation is directly to the ceiling, with no additional structures. The weight of 0.72 kg makes the assembly process straightforward and does not require special reinforcements in most standard domestic ceilings.

Questions and answers

Does the DIANA 800 lamp include the LED light source?

No, the light source is not included. It must be purchased separately and you should verify that it is compatible with the 220V–240V voltage and the model's socket.

What is the color temperature of this lamp and what kind of atmosphere does it create?

The color temperature is 2700K, which corresponds to warm light. That tone is close to traditional incandescent lighting and is especially suitable for rest areas or rooms where a calm atmosphere is desired.

Can the oval PC diffuser break easily during installation?

Polycarbonate is an impact-resistant material, more solid than glass. Even so, it should be handled carefully during assembly to avoid scratches on the transparent surface.
