Overview

DIANA is a pendant lamp from the brand FARO designed for those looking for a specific light point without the lamp taking up too much visual space. Its narrow body and satin gold finish make it useful as accent lighting: above a table in the dining room, next to the headboard in the bedroom, or in any corner where you want to highlight an element without installing a large lamp.

The pendant format allows you to adjust the height according to need, and its linear design fits well in modern interiors where simplicity matters. FARO is a Spanish company with years of experience in interior lighting, known for combining careful finishes with easy-to-install products.

Installation and specifications

For installation, an existing ceiling light point with wiring suitable for 220V-240V is required. Since the pendant lamp is fixed directly to the ceiling, it is advisable to verify that the ceiling rose or junction box is in good condition before mounting. The light source is not included, so a SMD LED bulb compatible with the indicated maximum wattage must be purchased separately. It is recommended that installation be carried out by an electrician if you have no experience with electrical connections.

For cleaning, a dry or slightly damp cloth on the aluminum body is sufficient. The transparent PC diffuser can be cleaned carefully to avoid scratches. Do not use abrasive products or solvents. Always disconnect the lamp from the power supply before handling it.

Design and use

The DIANA lamp from FARO has an oval and elongated silhouette that sets it apart from other suspension models. Its body measures 32 mm in diameter, making it very discreet visually: from a distance it looks almost like a thread of light suspended from the ceiling. That very slim proportion is precisely what makes it interesting for interiors where you want to illuminate without adding visual weight.

The body material is aluminium with a satin gold finish. It is not a bright or aggressive gold, but a warm and restrained tone that integrates well with light wood furniture, white surfaces or walls in neutral tones. In a living room with golden metallic or brass elements, this pendant lamp fits in naturally without needing to find it a special place.

The diffuser is made of transparent PC, which means the light comes out direct and concentrated downwards. This makes it a suitable option for accent or task lighting: above a dining table, over a specific point in the kitchen, or next to the bed in the bedroom. It is not designed to illuminate an entire room, but to create a focus of light where it is needed.

The colour temperature of 2700K produces a warm light, similar to traditional incandescent light. This tone of light favours relaxed atmospheres, so it works well in the bedroom or living room, where a calm ambience is sought rather than intense functional lighting. In the kitchen it can be placed above the worktop if combined with other general ceiling lights.

Although the design is modern, the oval shape and gold finish give it a character that also fits in more classic or mixed environments. In a well-lit bathroom, a pendant lamp of this type can work as a decorative element next to the mirror, provided the space allows it and the installation is suitable for that environment. In a hallway with a high ceiling, several units of this lamp aligned can create a very neat and elegant visual effect.

The total height of 400 mm allows it to hang with sufficient presence without invading the space. For low tables or passageways, the cable can be adjusted if the model allows it. Its weight of 0.55 kg means there is no concern about the load on the ceiling.

Accent lights like this DIANA work especially well when combined with other light sources in the same room. A single 6 W LED lamp does not illuminate an entire room, but it can mark a specific point and add depth to the overall composition. In a dining room, for example, lowering the lamp over the central table and having ambient lights around the perimeter is a combination that looks very balanced.

Questions and answers

Does the DIANA lamp include the LED bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The light source is not included. A SMD LED bulb with a maximum power of 6 W and compatible with a voltage of 220V-240V must be purchased separately.

Does the oval body of only 32 mm in diameter hold up well hanging from the ceiling without moving?

Yes. Despite its slim profile, the body is made of aluminium and weighs 0.55 kg in total. The ceiling fixing is standard for suspension luminaires and is stable under normal indoor use conditions.

Is the colour temperature of 2700K suitable for working or studying?

2700K produces a warm light, more oriented towards creating atmosphere than tasks requiring intense visual concentration. For reading or prolonged work it is preferable to combine this pendant lamp with another light source at a higher colour temperature.
