Overview

The CONGA pendant lamp by FARO is a suspension luminaire designed for interior spaces where detail matters. With a multiple canopy of 5 lights, it covers a wide area and provides a balanced light source without relying on a single central point. It is a suitable option for the living room, dining room, or any room where distributed lighting with its own character is desired.

The matte black steel body and white papyrus shade form a combination that works well in both domestic interiors and hospitality projects: restaurants, hotels, or reception spaces. The CONGA collection was developed by Faro Lab, FARO's in-house design team, a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior and exterior lighting.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This lamp is fixed to the ceiling using the included canopy. Before installing it, make sure the anchor point on the ceiling is firm and capable of supporting the weight of the luminaire. The suspension cable allows the height to be adjusted according to the space. Electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified professional. Bulb not included: it is necessary to purchase separately an E27 LED bulb with a maximum power of 15 W per light point.

Use and maintenance. To clean the steel body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. The papyrus shade is delicate — avoid contact with water and abrasive products. Do not touch the shades with your hands when the lamp is on, as they may get hot. Always disconnect the power before changing the bulb or performing any intervention.

Design and use

The CONGA pendant lamp has a clear visual presence. The multiple canopy of 5 lights extends from the ceiling in different directions, creating a balanced ensemble that does not rely on a single lighting point. Each arm holds an oval white papyrus shade that filters light softly, without creating harsh contrasts or pronounced shadow areas.

The body made of steel with a matte black finish gives solidity to the ensemble. It is not a glossy black that accumulates fingerprints, but a matte finish that maintains its clean appearance with little effort. Combined with the white papyrus shades, the result is a lamp with a two-tone palette that adapts to modern interiors without imposing itself on the rest of the décor.

The CONGA collection is an oval-shaped proposal in its general form, with arms distributed at different angles from the central anchor point. This arrangement makes the lamp work well in open-plan spaces or over long dining tables, where a single light source would not be sufficient. It also fits in large living rooms where the ceiling is high enough for the ensemble to hang freely.

In a bedroom, this type of lamp provides more enveloping lighting than a simple flush mount. The 5 distributed lights allow the perception of the space to be modulated, and the papyrus shade softens the light so it is neither direct nor uncomfortable. In the living room, the multiple canopy works as a decorative element that also illuminates: it is not only functional, but forms part of the visual composition of the room.

For hospitality projects, the CONGA lamp offers something that many luminaires do not achieve: a refined aesthetic without appearing overdone. In a restaurant or in the reception area of a hotel, this type of pendant adds warmth without falling into excess. The white papyrus of the shades is reminiscent of natural materials, which connects well with interiors that combine wood, wicker, or rattan in the furniture.

The suspension cable height, which reaches up to 5000 mm, provides room to adapt it to high ceilings or to adjust it to the desired height in standard spaces. The ensemble measures 500 mm in both length and depth, making it a piece with a notable presence but manageable for medium-sized spaces.

Compatibility with universal voltage between 100V and 240V allows it to be installed without adapters in different countries. The light source is E27 LED, a standard socket that is easy to find. The bulb is not included, so it is possible to choose the colour temperature that best suits the environment: warm light for rest areas or neutral light for work spaces or kitchens.

As for the kitchen or bathroom, this lamp is not designed to be installed in areas with direct steam or humidity. It works best in dry spaces where it can be displayed without restrictions.

Questions and answers

Does the suspension cable allow the height of the lamp to be adjusted?

Yes. The cable has a length of up to 5000 mm, which provides room to hang it at different heights depending on the ceiling of the space. The adjustment is made during installation.

What type of bulb does each light point of the canopy require?

Each of the 5 points requires a bulb with an E27 LED socket of maximum 15 W. The bulbs are not included and must be purchased separately.

Does the papyrus shade hold up well to daily use without deforming?

Papyrus is a stable material under normal interior conditions. It should not be exposed to humidity or direct contact with water. In a dry environment and with careful use, it maintains its shape without any issues.
