Overview

The FARO ceiling pendant lamp combines a bell-shaped structure with an oval PC diffuser in an opal finish. The result is a suspension luminaire that fits well in both kitchens and dining rooms, adding an industrial touch without feeling overdone. If you are renovating your home interior or looking for a lamp that sets the mood in a room, this could be a good option.

The light it emits is diffuse and uniform thanks to the oval diffuser, which avoids harsh shadows in the work area or over the table. The matte white steel body gives it solidity without adding visual weight to the space. It is installed on the ceiling directly via a height-adjustable hanging cable.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in interior lighting. Their products are designed for residential use and are characterised by functional design with proven quality materials.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the lamp, check that the ceiling has an available light point and that the junction box is securely fixed. The pendant lamp weighs 2.8 kg, so the ceiling support must be anchored to the structure. If you are unsure how to do this, it is recommended to seek the help of an electrician. Adjust the length of the hanging cable according to the ceiling height so that the lamp sits at a comfortable height above the table or worktop. Please note that the E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.

For maintenance, clean the steel body with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products that could damage the matte white finish. The oval diffuser can be cleaned with a soft cloth without excessive pressure. Always disconnect the lamp from the power supply before cleaning or handling it.

Design and use

The FARO ceiling pendant lamp has a recognisable silhouette: the matte white steel bell with the oval PC diffuser in an opal finish. That shape is not just aesthetic — it helps concentrate the light downwards, making it a good option for illuminating a dining table or kitchen island without the light dispersing too much to the sides.

The oval diffuser filters the light from the LED bulb and distributes it gently. There are no glare points or very dark areas around it. In a kitchen, that means you can work comfortably. In a dining room, it creates a warm atmosphere without being excessive.

The steel body gives it stability and a clear visual presence. It is not a lamp that goes unnoticed, but it does not dominate the space either. The matte white finish works well with Nordic interiors, industrial-style spaces, and also with more neutral environments where materials such as wood or iron are mixed. If your room has natural surfaces or dark-toned furniture, the white of the lamp acts as a counterpoint without disrupting the harmony.

In the bedroom it can work as the main light if the ceiling is high enough. The total height of the lamp is 1600 mm with the cable at its maximum length, but that cable is adjustable, so you can adapt it to lower ceilings without any problem. In a bedroom with limited vertical space, positioning it higher and using a low-wattage LED bulb can produce a very pleasant result.

In a living room, a pendant lamp like this can complement the general lighting. If your living room has recessed lights or LED strips on the ceiling, adding a pendant lamp above the coffee table or sofa creates a visual reference point in the room. It is not just light — it is also an element that defines zones within a large space.

The bathroom is another space where this type of lamp can fit, provided the installation conditions allow it. In a bathroom with a high ceiling and a well-defined washbasin area, a pendant lamp can produce a very different result from a standard flush mount.

The industrial design of this lamp also makes it compatible with elements such as filament bulbs, exposed brick surfaces, or metal furniture. If you already have an interior with that style, the lamp fits in without any adjustments. If your space is more eclectic, the matte white softens the industrial character and allows it to coexist with other styles without creating visual conflict.

The pendant lamp accepts an E27 LED bulb of up to 15 W. The E27 socket is standard and easy to find. You can choose a warm light bulb for more intimate atmospheres or a neutral light bulb if the space is used for work. That choice can considerably change the final result in the room.

Questions and answers

Is the diffuser on this lamp made of glass or another material?

The diffuser is made of PC with an opal finish, not glass. This makes it more impact-resistant and lighter, although visually it looks very similar to translucent oval glass.

Is it possible to adjust the height of the hanging cable on this lamp?

Yes. The indicated total height is 1600 mm, but the hanging cable can be shortened during installation to suit the ceiling height of the space where it will be placed.

What type of bulb do I need for this lamp and is it included?

The lamp uses an LED bulb with an E27 socket and a maximum power of 15 W. The bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.
