Overview

The ANNA lamp by FARO is a pendant ceiling luminaire with a conical shade in a black finish. Its shape concentrates light downward, making it a suitable option for creating accent lighting: illuminating a table, a specific corner, or a focal point in the room without flooding the entire space with diffuse light.

The body is made of aluminium and the diffuser of transparent PMMA. It comes with an integrated 4W SMD LED and a colour temperature of 2700K, which produces a warm light similar to that of a classic incandescent bulb. No light source replacement is needed: it comes ready to plug in and hang.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in interior lighting. Their products are designed for real domestic use, not just for catalogues.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the lamp, make sure the anchor point on the ceiling can support the weight of the assembly. Although the luminaire is lightweight, the canopy must be fixed to a firm surface, preferably over a recessed electrical box or an expansion plug in a concrete ceiling. Always cut the power at the electrical panel before handling any wiring. If you have no experience with electrical installations, it is most sensible to seek the help of an electrician.

To clean the aluminium body, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the black finish. The PMMA diffuser is sensitive to scratches, so it should be cleaned with a soft cloth without rubbing hard. Do not touch the LED surface directly or attempt to disassemble it.

Design and use

The ANNA lamp has a simple, defined silhouette. The cone-shaped shade directs light downward precisely, something that oval-diffuser or globe luminaires cannot achieve. This directionality makes it especially useful in situations where you want to highlight a specific element: a dining table, a kitchen worktop, a painting, or a reading area.

The matte black aluminium body has a compact profile, with a total diameter of 72 mm and a height of 266 mm. It does not take up too much visual space, making it suitable for both standard ceilings and spaces with more limited height. When hanging from the ceiling on a cable, the height can be adjusted to suit the needs of each space.

The diffuser material is transparent PMMA. This allows the LED inside to be seen and contributes to the light appearing clean and direct, without excessive dispersion to the sides. The 2700K temperature gives a warm tone that is comfortable in a bedroom, living room, or any corner where a relaxed atmosphere is sought in the evening or at night.

In the kitchen, a pendant lamp of this type works well above an island or over the work area. By directing light downward, it improves visibility without the need to add more ceiling light points. In the dining room, placed above the table, it creates that focal lighting effect that visually separates the eating area from the rest of the space.

It also makes sense to use it in the bathroom, provided the installation is outside the wet zones defined by current electrical regulations. In a bedroom it can serve as a hanging bedside lamp, keeping the bedside table free. In the living room, several units together allow a composition of lights to be created that structures the space without installing a central ceiling light.

The black finish of the aluminium body pairs well with interiors of clean lines. It integrates effortlessly into modern settings, but can also be used in spaces with wood or iron elements, where the black adds contrast without disrupting the overall look. In a room with neutral or white tones, the conical black silhouette becomes a simple yet striking visual detail.

The total weight is just 0,41 kg, which makes installation easy and does not require a particularly reinforced anchor point. The included 4W LED consumes little energy and does not generate excessive heat in the diffuser during normal use.

Questions and answers

Does the ANNA lamp include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The SMD LED light source is already included. No additional bulb needs to be purchased. The integrated LED operates at 220V–240V and emits light at 2700K from the very first moment.

Is the PMMA diffuser as resistant as a glass one?

PMMA is lighter than glass and less fragile when subjected to impacts, but it scratches more easily. To keep it in good condition, simply clean it with a soft cloth and avoid contact with abrasive objects.

How many ANNA lamps can be installed together above a dining table?

There is no specific technical restriction on installing them as a group. With a diameter of 72 mm and being ceiling pendants, several units can be combined at different heights or in a line above a dining table, connecting each one to its own electrical point.
