Overview

The VESPER lamp by FARO is a pendant luminaire designed to hang from the ceiling in interior spaces where a balance between functionality and form is sought. Its structure combines two main bodies that work with the contrast between solid and void, resulting in an oval silhouette with its own character. It is not a lamp that goes unnoticed, but it does not compete with the rest of the space either — it complements it.

It is a good option for the living room, dining room, or any room where you want to concentrate light at a specific point without resorting to overly elaborate solutions. The scale of the piece — 600 mm in length and a total drop of up to 2280 mm — allows it to work well in rooms with high ceilings.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in interior and exterior lighting. Its products combine design criteria with durable materials, designed for everyday domestic use.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the pendant lamp, check that the anchor point on the ceiling can support the weight of the assembly. The suspension cable allows the height to be adjusted according to the needs of the space. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially if it is a first installation or a modification of the existing wiring. The operating voltage is compatible with the standard electrical grid of most countries.

To clean the steel body in a matte white finish, a soft cloth slightly dampened is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The opal polycarbonate diffuser is cleaned in the same way. Do not handle the lamp with the power connected. Periodically check the condition of the cable and the ceiling fixing.

Design and use

The VESPER series starts from a specific idea: simplifying interior lighting without giving up the visual character of the piece. The result is a pendant lamp with an oval shape, constructed in steel and finished in matte white, which integrates easily into contemporary interiors without needing other supporting elements.

The body is made up of two parts that relate to each other from the logic of contrast: a solid zone and an open zone. This design decision is not purely aesthetic — it also affects how light is distributed in the environment. The polycarbonate diffuser with an opal finish softens the light source and prevents direct glare, which allows the light to spread more evenly over the work or rest surface below.

The lamp accepts an E27 LED bulb of up to 15 W. The bulb is not included, which allows you to choose the colour temperature that best suits the use of each space. In the living room, warm light creates a more relaxed atmosphere. In the kitchen or in work areas, a neutral or cool temperature may be more practical.

The length of 600 mm makes VESPER a lamp with considerable presence. It works particularly well suspended above a dining table, where the oval scale of the piece complements the elongated shape of most tables. It also fits in the living room as a main or complementary light point, depending on the overall lighting scheme.

In the bedroom, a pendant lamp like this can replace bedside tables with wall lights or desktop lamps, as long as the drop height is well adjusted. The maximum drop of 2280 mm allows working with high ceilings without the lamp being too close to the floor.

In the kitchen, placed above the island or above the preparation area, VESPER's lights provide directed illumination without taking up space on the worktop. In the bathroom, if electrical and safety conditions allow, a lamp of these characteristics can add a decorative light point above the washbasin or in a dressing area.

The matte white finish of the metal body means the piece combines well with furniture in neutral tones, light wood or lacquered surfaces. It does not require a specific colour palette to work — it is the type of modern lamp that adapts to the environment without forcing a particular style.

The oval design, together with the solid materials and uniform finish, also makes VESPER compatible with spaces where different styles coexist. It is not a piece that demands total coherence with the rest of the furniture, which makes it easier to integrate into homes that are in the process of renovation or that combine elements from different eras.

Questions and answers

Does the pendant lamp cable allow the suspension height to be adjusted?

Yes. The total height indicated is 2280 mm, but the cable can be shortened during installation to adapt to the ceiling height and the intended use of the space.

What type of bulb is compatible with this ceiling lamp?

It uses an E27 socket and accepts LED bulbs of up to 15 W. The bulb is not included, so you can choose the colour temperature you prefer.

Can the oval opal polycarbonate diffuser yellow over time?

The quality polycarbonate used in interior luminaires is treated to keep its opal finish stable. Avoid cleaning it with aggressive chemical products to preserve the material in good condition.
