Design and use

The VENICE 200 lamp has an oval cobalt blue ceramic shade with a gloss finish. It is not a standard glass shade or industrial glass shade: it is a handmade piece crafted in Barcelona, with all the subtle variation that implies. Cobalt blue is a dense tone, with depth, that changes slightly depending on the light it receives. During the day it absorbs the natural light of the space; at night, with the bulb on, the interior of the oval shade reflects that warmth downward.

The body is steel with a black finish. That contrast between the black of the frame and the shiny blue of the oval shade is part of the design. There are no additional decorative elements: the form speaks for itself. The pendant lamp has a diameter of 200 mm and a height of 251 mm, dimensions that make it suitable for both small spaces and areas where an overly dominant piece is not desired.

In the dining room, a single unit above the table creates a defined light focus. If the ceiling is high, the lamp can be lowered to sit closer to the work surface or the table. In the living room, it works well in a reading corner or above a side table. Does the oval ceramic shade come fixed to the body or does it need to be assembled separately?

The shade is designed to fit directly into the lamp holder. It does not require additional fixings; assembly is straightforward and can be done without special tools.

Does the lamp include an LED bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The light source is not included. You need a bulb with an E27 cap and a maximum wattage of 15 W. The system is compatible with standard LED bulbs of that type.

Is the gloss blue finish of the ceramic the same on all units or can it vary?

As the shade is handcrafted in a workshop in Barcelona, there may be small variations between pieces. These differences are inherent to the artisanal process and are part of the character of the lamp.
