Overview

The FARO pendant lamp is an option designed for those seeking a balance between form and function in the home interior. It is ceiling-mounted and works well in spaces where central lighting defines the atmosphere: a dining room with a large table, a well-defined kitchen, a living room with sufficient ceiling height. Its oval silhouette gives it presence without being excessive, and the matte white finish integrates it effortlessly into light or neutral interiors.

The steel body and fabric shade form a combination that looks solid yet visually light. The structure is not too heavy — 1.5 kg in total — and the shade softens the light so it is neither harsh nor direct. It is a lamp that does what it needs to do without drawing too much attention to itself.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a track record in interior and exterior lighting. This piece was designed by Estudi Ribaudí, a design studio focused on everyday objects that combine aesthetic judgment and practical use.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the lamp, make sure the ceiling box is properly anchored and capable of supporting the weight of the assembly. Ceiling installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician or a person experienced in domestic electrical installations. Make sure to cut the power from the electrical panel before starting any work. The lamp accepts a voltage between 100V and 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical network. Use only E27 LED bulbs with a maximum power of 15W. The bulb is not included in the order, so it is advisable to have it ready before installation.

To clean the fabric shade, use a dry or slightly damp cloth without abrasive products. The steel body in matte white finish is cleaned with a soft cloth. Avoid wetting the electrical components. Do not touch the bulb with unprotected hands when it is hot. Keep the lamp away from direct sources of moisture.

Design and use

The FARO ceiling pendant lamp has an oval shape that stands out from the more common silhouettes on the market. That geometry is not just an aesthetic decision: the oval shade distributes light downward and sideways in a balanced way, without creating harsh shadows or excessive contrast points. The result is lighting that fills the space uniformly.

The body is made of steel, a material that provides rigidity and stability to the structure. The matte white finish does not reflect light, which avoids annoying glare and allows the lamp to integrate well into white ceilings or neutral-colored walls. The fabric shade wraps around the light source and acts as a natural filter, giving the surroundings a warmer appearance without the need to dim the intensity.

In a dining room, this lamp works especially well above a rectangular or round table. The adjustable cable height — up to 1640 mm in total — allows the distance between the shade and the table surface to be adjusted to achieve just the right lighting. In a kitchen, it can be placed above an island or work area where good visibility is needed without the light being harsh.

In a bedroom, the fabric shade softens the light enough to create a calm atmosphere. It is not an intense reading lamp, but a central light point that sets the mood without being intrusive. In a living room with a standard ceiling height, the oval silhouette provides a distinctive visual element without breaking the harmony of the whole.

The lamp is compatible with an E27 screw cap LED bulb, the most common format on the market. This makes it easy to choose the bulb according to the preferred light tone: cool white for work spaces, warm white for more relaxed atmospheres. The maximum accepted power is 15W, sufficient to illuminate medium-sized rooms.

From a design perspective, the combination of steel and fabric allows the lamp to work in modern interiors without feeling cold. It does not need to be accompanied by other specific elements to fit in — it works well with wooden furniture, lacquered surfaces, neutral textiles and natural finishes. It is a discreet lamp in the best sense: it is present, fulfills its function and does not distract.

Estudi Ribaudí's design is based on a logic of formal simplicity. Nothing is superfluous, and each part of the object has a reason for being where it is. That coherence is noticeable in everyday use: the lamp looks good from different angles and does not lose its appearance over time.

Questions and answers

Does the lamp include the E27 LED bulb for operation?

No. The light source is not included in the order. It is necessary to purchase separately an E27 LED screw cap bulb with a maximum power of 15W. It is the most widely available format in lighting stores and large retail outlets.

Is it possible to adjust the height at which the lamp hangs from the ceiling?

The total height of the assembly is 1640 mm, but the cable allows some adjustment during installation. It is common practice to gather part of the cable inside the ceiling box to adapt it to the height of the space. It is recommended that an electrician carry out this adjustment to ensure a clean and safe finish.

Is the oval body of the lamp made entirely of steel or only part of the structure?

The body of the lamp is made of steel with a matte white finish. The oval shade surrounding the light source is made of fabric. Both materials form the visible assembly of the luminaire.
